I posted recently about my blood results and received a reply that suggested I might need to rule out pernicious anaemia. Could anyone enlighten me as to what is involved either private testing or via my GP.
I took B12, Vit D and iron supplements until July and stopped largely because I was feeling better and ran out!! In the last 2 weeks I feel exhausted and though everything is a massive effort. My recent related blood results are
vitamin D 113.6 (50-220)
ferratin 103 (10-300)
folate 5.7 (3.1 - 20)
B12 554 (187 -883) the lowest was 259 in 2012. B12 levels without supplements tend to be low end of spectrum
iron 12.5 (10-31)
I had my homocysteine tested in 2015 and it was 18 ( less than 10) and took a supplement but haven't had a re-test.
If anyone can point me in the right direction with the pernicious anaemia angle I would appreciate it. Thank you.
