Due to have the shingles vaccine this week.

Hello there,

I am also 78 years old and in June/July last year during hot weather I had Shingles!!

My doctor said on diagnosis ........you slipped through the net! I wasn't offered the vaccine and suffered the consequences.Shingles is both painful and debilitating and I have enough pain from being hypothyroid and also now suspecting fibromyalgia.

The decision must always be yours, but I would have taken it if offered.

Best wishes to you.

Thank you, just wanted to make sure that after the event I didn’t find out it was inadvisable.

Hope you are feeling better.

Hi ,If you have Eczema or a skin complaint do not have it .My husband had a reaction to the Vaccine he has Eczema ,he had the shingles Vaccine 4 Years ago and within a week he came out in spots .He has constant itching ,since last October he has had 10 flare ups of Shingles .He finished having Radiotherphy in July and because his immune system was low the shingles came out on his legs and neck .He is waiting to see a third Dermatoligist been waiting 12 weeks and have not had a an appointment yet . Hi YG, I have no thyroid, I am on NDT (T4 + T3) 1.5 grains and had the shingles vaccine a few years ago. I had no negative reaction. Some clown came to work with raging shingles, scratching his blisters and handling everything we all used. That was Thursday afternoon, I drove to my docs Friday morning (calling in sick). Get the vaccine!

I had a really bad attack of Shingles in my late 60's and then a second attack which my doctor said wasn't positive but itcwasalong the same nerve but I finally got the injection at 70-no issues but actually getting Shingles was really horrible, painful and couldn't get comfortable at all!
