You really ought to have ferritin, vit B12 and folate tested before taking any of those.

Too much iron is toxic. And, if you start B12/folate without getting tested for a base-line, you could miss Pernicious Anemia. Now you've started them, you'd have to leave them off for 5 months to get a base-line. Whoever gave you that advise didn't really do you any favours, I'm afraid.

Right I didn’t know that? But I certainly feel better not getting ill all the time now?, however the sweat pours off me constantly? I can’t seem to stop getting over heated???

It would be a good idea to get your vit d tested, too.

Of course they make you feel better - if you needed them. Nothing will help if you don't need it, more isn't better. But, for certain things you do need a base-line a) to make sure you do need it, b) to see how much you need c) to rule out other conditions like Pernicious Anemia.

Vit C you can take without testing, any excess is just excreted. And, it's not worth testing magnesium, due to the way the body handles magnesium. But, most people are deficient, so I would take some of that, too, if I were you. Just make sure you take it at least four hours away from thyroid hormone. Vit D, iron, calcium and estrogen should also be at least four hours away from thyroid hormone. Other things, two hours away. :)

My sincere apologies, I should have looked at your past posts before replying, but I thought you were new. Seems you did get your nutrients tested, but not calcium. Did you ever get your calcium tested? Are you still taking it? Are you still taking vit D?

I’ve been told ages ago years ago that my body doesn’t make enough vit d so I permanently take calcichew D3 Forte

Yes, but as I explained to you last year, it's doubtful that you need - or even want - all that calcium. Just taking vit D can increase your absorption of calcium from food, and too much calcium can be dangerous. You really, really ought to get that calcium tested as soon as possible. It could cause things like kidney stones, or even a heart attack.

Also, the type of vit D with calcium usually has a huge dose of calcium, and a tiny amount of vit D, which won't be enough to help you.

Looking back at your first post on the forum last year

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

you did have low levels and supplementing was suggested. However, when supplementing we should retest occasionally to see that we are maintaining appropriate levels. Once a year is a good idea and because I supplement I do that with a Blue Horizon Thyroid Check Plus Eleven bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/t... but Medichecks do a similar test too medichecks.com/thyroid-func...

Humanbean replied very specifically to your original post with

You must test your iron levels regularly once you start supplementing - roughly every 6 weeks is a good idea. Your doctor won't do it for you, so you would have to pay for it yourself :

Don't let your ferritin and serum iron go over the optimal I suggested above - but pay attention to the reference ranges. If they change then you have to re-calculate the optimal levels.
