Vitamin D and chills

I saw my doctor today. We’ve decided to wait before increasing my meds as it hasn’t been 6 weeks since the last draw or the last med change. Among my many complaints was the chills I experience, particularly late in the day. My evenings are my best time with this exception. I literally have blankets and a heating pad and am still cold. My vitamin D is on the low side and she prescribed a supplement today. She thinks the chills might be related to low vitamin D. Has anyone ever heard of the relationship between vitamin D and chills? Thanks to all!

No to Vit D but you will feel cold if your not getting enough Thyroid. Achy joints maybe, brittle hair, skin. Take an extra 25mcg of thyroxin per day for a few days and see if you get better at night. If you do you may need to convince your gp you are under medicated

I have taken up to 5000 iu of Vit d and have constantly monitored my levels and that got me nowhere near the toxicity point. Chills is a clear symptom of hypothyroidism. I don’t think Vit D has ever been linked to chills so I can’t believe the doctor even said that.

No Ive never felt chills or cold with low vit D. Typical symptoms of low vit D are fatigue, non restorative sleep, aches and pains. Feeling cold is more a symptom of an underactive thyroid, unless you have a virus? Have you checked your temperature?

Thank you. No virus. I know I’m undermedicated, was just curious about the vitamins. Thanks so much!

This is a list of clinical symptoms. Thankfully, we don't get all of them.

Low vitamin D is not good for health, you need to be up in the optimal range.
