Blood test results some thoughts would be appreciated :)

I have been very unwell the past year and trying to work out what´s wrong. I changed doctors a few times as I never felt confident in the ones I had been seeing and had begun to suffer from seizures and odd episodes where I was not in control of myself and could never recall the day after the "episode" had occurred.

I eventually found an endocrinologist here on the island ( I am on Fuerteventura) and thought that would solve everything, however all he did was look at my TSH saw that I was taking NDT and that my TSH was suppressed and change me over to Levothyroxine and then after 2 weeks reduce the amount from 150mcg to 125mcg.

My last blood results are as follows

03/05/2019

TSH 0.03 μU/mL range 0.35 - 4.94 μU/mL

He changed me from 3 NDT to 150 Levo

07/06/2019

T3 LIBRE

2.3 pg/ml range 1.4 - 3.5 pg/ml

T4 LIBRE

1.2 ng/dl range 0.71 - 1.85 ng/dl

TSH

0.09 μU/mL range 0.35 - 4.94 μU/mL

I was then changed from 150 Levo to 125 Levo

The worse thing is that I have gone from being able to cycle and walk to not being able to do anything at all.

My body feels so heavy and difficult to use , even typing this is difficult and tiring. My arms are as if they belong to someone else and are so heavy to lift.

My memory is almost non existent too and all I want to do is sleep and I could easily sleep all day long. I have been going to bed at 9pm and then not getting up until at least 11am and then falling asleep if I lay down and would only awaken if someone woke me..... I am so tired!

Any advice would be gratefully received. Just to mention that he had changed me from the NDT because of the seizures etc but after lots of reading over the past 2 days I believe I might have something called Hashimotos encephalitis

encephalitis.info/Default.aspx

we had called them today and gone through all my problems with them on the phone and they think it could be too so going to go see a specialist they have recommended, once I gathered all the data of everything that has happened so far.

Would really appreciate some feedback on my results if you don´t mind though

My auto immune antibodies are

AUTOINMUNIDAD

range

Ac. anti-Microsomales 13.1 UI/mL * 0 - 10

En blanco

Ac. anti-Tiroglobulina 163.2 UI/mL ** 0 - 4

Thank you for your time and help.

Best wishes,

Tina

Change your doctor.

I doubt few, if any, know very much at all, especially about clinical symptoms of hypothyroidism. He has swopped your dose of approx 300mcg (NDT i.e. 1 grain is around 100mcg of T4/levothyroxine) to 150 mcg levothyroxine.

As blood tests were introduced along with levothyroxine, if we take other thyroid hormones, i.e. NDT (T4,T3,T2,T1 and calcitonin) or add T3/T4 or take T3 alone, they will not correlate. Before levo our dose of NDT was gradually raised until we were symptom-free.

The worst things doctors can do is adjust our dose according to the TSH result. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is from the pituitary gland, not thyroid gland, The aim is a TSH of 1 and a FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of the ranges if taking levothyroxine.

I have no knowledge of Hashimotos encephalitis so hope some members will have some information.

Blood tests for thyroid hormones should be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of thyroid hormones and the test and take afterwards.
