I soupose I need to weight the pros and cons...belive me I have been on several kinds of antibiotics oral and intravenous with anti sickness and every time I have vomited severely they are bad memories for me my consultant gave me them in 2015 because I was bleeding from my mouth and backpassage he tried me on 4 types I vomited on them all..again just this Feb I had a lung infection my Gp again gave me antibiotics again I vomited so with that in mind I'm very reluctant to use them in don't want to be sick with stitches in my kneck...
Yes that was my point, if the tonsillitis is viral rather than bacterial in origin, antibiotics wouldn't help in any case; and no one, but especially given situations such as yours, should be randomly prescribed antibiotics if the cause isn't known to be bacterial.
So sorry to hear about this! You were doing so well. I would get a throat culture to be sure you don’t have a bacterial infection. If it’s viral, just liquids and rest. If it’s bacterial you will need to treat it I’m afraid - or it may develop into something worse.
