Have you checked your iron levels - low iron can cause breathlessness. I still have my thyroid but also snore and get very breathless too. I am trying to increase my iron levels and hopefully this will help.

Kathiann,

If you post your recent thyroid results and ranges members will advise whether you are optimally dosed. If you have any results and ranges for ferritin, iron, vitamin D, B12 and folate post them too.

Hi Kathiann,

I started to experience those problems around two years after my TT, and the breathlessness finally improved after I started taking a liquid iron supplement. (I also take vitamin D, and a methylated B12 and folate supplement, so these may have helped too, but I most notice the difference with taking iron.)

My ferritin was down to 21 at my worst, and every mainstream doctor I went to told me that this was a normal value. However, they were wrong, because now that my ferritin is up to around 60 I feel 90% better. I only get short of breath now around my period, or if I don't eat enough protein for a few days in a row.

My Husband suffered shortness of breath, his iron bloods were under range, once on supplements his breathlessness went away almost over night. Do think about getting your iron panel bloods done Kathiann.
