These are blood test results that my son has just let me see, after GP visit. He's been told to come back in 3 months. On 175 mcg and stopped taking medication for 1 month this past January. Has been on this for the past 18 yrs or so. The TSH level is unbelievably high. No Vit. D tested - at least they did do T4 and T3. Would be grateful for any advice/opinions. Many thanks.
Date collected: 23/04/19
Vit B12 533 (180 - 2000 ng/L)
Serum Folate 4.9 (2.8 - 20 ug/L)
TSH 43.5H (0.2 - 4.5 mU/L)
Free T4 11 (9 - 21 pmol/l)
Free T3 2.5 (2.5 - 4.9 pmol/L
Anti Thyroid Peroxidase 24.2 WHO Units (0 - 100)
Will be grateful for any pointers as to next action. Many thanks.

Thanks for replying. He's been taking 175 mcg Levo and has been over the years, apart from the blip in January of this year, but has continued taking it since beginning of February onwards. He isn't supplementing with anything and has been vegetarian for quite some time, so I suspect his vitamin levels are not good. He smokes and doesn't look after himself too well, always depressed. Our relationship is fraught and I generally don't get told too much about his lifestyle, but, as his mum, will do whatever I can to help him improve things. I guess next move would be to get vitamin levels tested and supplement then.
Well, he's got the B12 and folate results there, and he could probably do with taking a good B complex, to keep the levels up. Now he needs vit D and ferritin.
