Customs Seizure - NDT from abroad

Has anyone any experience of Border Force seizure of NDT or other thyroid medicines? If so, did you successfully appeal...I ask because after a detailed study of the UK Controlled Drugs lists/schedules, I have found no reference to any thyroid compounds, whether T4 or T3, etc. Welcome feedback on this question and suggestions as to the best way forward...do I appeal or what?

I take it you've had yours seized? What does your letter say?

Just read previous post, my letter is the same saying these are controlled drugs and contrary to the misuse of drugs act. I have 10 days to appeal, which is my intention. I am planning to say these are not controlled drugs and are purely for personal use.

I know T3 isn't a controlled drug (as far as we know), Armour (or any NDT) is not licensed in the UK but is still prescribed by some doctors so I can't see why it should come under "controlled drug" category.

Strange how we've heard of two members having this problem within a couple of days of each other, hopefully this isn't going to become a trend. As someone said on the other thread, possibly an over zealous customs officer.
