Hi, I intend on getting a blood test done using medichecks. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a venous blood draw from for this purpose

Medichecks website has a Find a Clinic facility where you can arrange a blood draw

medichecks.com/find-a-clinic

They can also arrange home phlebotomy.

You could ask your GP surgery, some will do it for free, some charge a fee, some won't do it. You can ask your local hospital's path lab, again some will do it, some won't.

And there's a list of phlebotomy services on the Thyroid UK website too :) thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/p...

I always forget that, nobody comes anywhere near where I live :(

I think I recall you're in N.Wales, so presumably way too far for SMB Health Services to travel from Cwmbran :(

Yes, I'm rural North West Wales, Cwmbran is about 140 miles away in South Wales.

I did book home phlebotomy once with BH, the phlebotomist came from somewhere in South Wales and it took her about 3 hours, I couldn't book an early appointment due to the distance, had to have 12.30pm but she did arrive half an hour early :)

It's a good job I can manage fingerprick tests :D but I'm stuck if I wanted a test that can only be done by venous blood draw.

Wow, that cannot have been worth her while. Or if it was, BH must have been substantially out of pocket.

Mold is about 60 miles from me. I don't have a car and it would be a day trip on public transport :D

I would see if your surgery willing to do it. Certainly worth an ask. My doctor volunteered the services of the nurse and I checked she was happy with that. She was happy to do it on one condition! She had never seen any results for that test-can't remember what it was now but yes I was happy to let her see my results!
