Welcome to our forum bethwilson86. There's no history on your Profile - just your name.

Are you sure you are taking 5 thousand mcg of levothyroxine? i.e. 5,000mcg.

When were you diagnosed - and I assume with hypothyroidism? What was your starting dose?

5000mcg is surely a typo ?!

I hope so, bantam12 ! 😱 My GP and Endo freaked out at 250mcg!

Swallowing 50 tablets would take quite a while!

It may be 500mcg

That's still a massive dose, what does the pharmacy label say on your box or bottle of tablets ?

I think it would be best if you can tell us how long you have been diagnosed, which thyroid replacement you are taking, the exact dose and your latest results because the information so far is a tad confusing.

Hi! Welcome to the forum. Sorry about all the questions but there's good reason. Your TSH reading is high indicating you need some help so these questions are so we can help you better to understand what is happening and the best way to help you. Have they only tested that reading?

If you can tell us more about your thyroid journey then I'm sure we can help you understand your result(s) and what to do next. I'm sure you can appreciate though that we need to know what you have been given so far as it's so difficult to get it right if we don't know the full picture.

Not what you're looking for?
