Just had my latest results back from Thriva and the good news is that my t3 has increased almost back to where it was prior to problems with nature throid. However my TPO antibodies have risen. Not by a huge amount (from 27.6 last summer to 49.6)but it is now out of normal range. I was just wondering why this might be? (just to clarify, I do have Hashimitos but after going gf and switching to NDT I had previously reduced my antibodies to within normal range)
My ferritin is still on the low side 61.7(13-150) but has increased since February now I'm supplementing again.
I'm still suffering with slightly low moods so just trying to figure out what fine tuning I need to do!

I’m interested for an in depth answer to this question also. I’m struggling to get my antibodies to go down, I keep having hashi flare ups and can’t keep my antibodies even within the measurable range (range goes up to 1000, my readings are often 1000+).
Been GF for 3 years now, when I started the diet they were around 400, so it’s only gone up since then 😑
No, I think I'd really struggle with that. I'm just wondering what might have made them go back up? Can stress cause it, or can it be linked to vitamin or mineral deficiencies etc..?

PS, my Endo has told me however that stress is a factor, and he tends to make a point of the importance of it to my thyroid health and overall wellbeing. But that having been said, he never specifically said that stress would raise anti-bodies, just that it would worsen the condition overall.
I know stress effects me for sure and I have been worrying about my daughter recently but like you say, I don't know whether it would raise my antibodies. I just can't think what else has changed other than switching from nature throid to thiroyd.
I think stress is a huge factor but only from my own experience I don’t have any real info to provide.
I’ve been well medicated for some years now and I keep a really close eye on my labs, and I’m tested often and thoroughly by my Endo and other specialists. I’ve found 3 things that seem to affect my antibodies.
1. Stress is probably the main one, I deal with a whole lot of stress, and in the few moments over the last 3 years that I somehow managed to catch a break it seems that my antibodies did lower. And when I’m highly stressed it seems my antibodies go up.
2. Lowering meds. Any time I lowered my meds seems my antibodies went up, for the longest time I attributed my antibodies lowering to having a suppressed TSH, but now my TSH is at the lowest value I’ve ever had and still antibodies are rising.
3. Catching a cold or sickness from someone. This kind of goes hand in hand with stress. When I’m stressed it seems my immune system caves and that’s when I get sick. When I get sick I also tend to have hashi flare up and I can always feel my thyroid getting affected.
I want to add this note: I’ve been off gluten (very strictly) for 3 years, and off dairy as well for years. I have been following all the advice of what to do to lower antibodies. I’ve taken NAC for 2 years now, and zinc. Tried the selenium route and I get my selenium regularly tested to make sure I’m in good range. With all those attempts, the previous 3 points are the only things that seem to actually have an effect on my antibodies (at least that I’ve noticed).
However I still feel really in the dark and I’m always looking for more clues.
Hope you find out answers about this I've just ordered a full thyroid test to have mine checked to compare with when I was on Nature Throid last year my TP antibodies were 48.2 then so it will be interesting to compare after few months on another NDT. I'm doing fine on Thiroyd but have noticed my chronic hives seemed to have worsened so wondering if it's to do with my antibodies. I've been gluten free for years but do still have dairy, like yourself I would find that SO difficult to give up! My mood has been pretty good now I'm well past the menopause, I also find high strength omega 3 supplement really helps my mood. I will let you know how my new results compare when I have them back.
