Metavive l and ll porcine. Metavive ll is double the strength of Metavive l.
Metavive lll and lV are bovine. Metavive lV is double the strength of Metavive lll.
As they are glandulars, there is no disclosed amount of T4 or T3. However, I understand that a pig's thyroid contains more T3 than a cow's thyroid. So you would get more T3 in the Metavive l and ll.
Another thought, as you are on 200mcg Eltroxin and don't feel well - what are your TSH, FT4 and FT3 results? It could be that you don't convert T4 to T3 very well and your FT3 is not in balance with FT4. Is your FT4 high and FT3 low in range?
Also, before any thyroid hormone can work properly, nutrient levels need to be optimal (not just in range). Have you tested:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Also, have you has thyroid antibodies tested - Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) and Thyroglobulin (Tg)?
To get a complete picture, all those tests need to be done.
All my tests look fine, TSH a little to high. Positive antibodies-TPO
Problem is that government has banned the doctors to prescribe NDT... thats why I want the Metavive
I just ordered the porcine II so now I hope to figure out how much is = 200 mcg Euthyrox or 100 mcg Euthyrox/20 mcg Liothyronine as I have also tried. I am tested pos. for TPO-antibodies..
Hello Kristina. Just wondered how you got on with Metavive? I’m thinking of giving it a go. I currently source thyroid s from Thailand but they are not manufacturing any at the moment
