These tests in themselves will probably not get you a diagnosis

Yes TSH is fairly high. FT4 clearly rock bottom.

Essential next step is to test both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies

Also essential to test vitamin D, folate and retest ferritin

This previous post on PAS healthunlocked shows really terrible ferritin and B12

How frequently are you getting B12 injections

healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po...

Ferritin needs to be at least half way in range

Has GP prescribed iron supplements?

If so how much and have you had levels retested?

Have you had folate and vitamin D tested? If not ask GP to do so plus to test thyroid antibodies

Essential to retest folate, ferritin, vitamin D and B12 regularly

Hello lovely.

Thank you for replying.. I will do the thyroid antibodies tests... My B12 was not even top end on my last test, about 4 weeks after injection... I had loading doses and have had 2 more ( every 12 weeks ) Thanks to all the help on here i did my first SI yesterday and going to do it every week until i feel a little better. I have also got some iron liquid myself as docs again said "its fine" I also take vitamin D tablets as it is taking time to bring that up to normal... Taking folic acid which doc did prescribe! I am having a few other issues with blood test which i am hoping Docs will at least look at as i dont know how to help myself with those. xx

So how much vitamin D did GP originally prescribe?

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function.

What dose are your current vitamin D tablets?

Getting retested would be good idea via

vitamindtest.org.uk

Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be more beneficial, than folic acid. Also contains B12.

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Best start with just one in mornings).

Or Jarrow B-right - large capsule.

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Just found this previous post showing vitamin D deficiency.

healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po...

Did GP prescribe loading doses? - that's a total of 300,000iu over 6-8 weeks?

As per these Local CCG guidelines

clinox.info/clinical-suppor...

Vitamin D should be retested after completing loading dose

Was it?

Aiming to improve vitamin D to at least 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better .

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function.

It's trial and error what dose each person needs.

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Retesting twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Your low vitamins suggest poor gut function, very common with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Hashimoto's and/or gluten intolerance/coeliac disease all cause low vitamin levels

Ask GP for coeliac blood test first or buy test online for under £20

Testing negative for coeliac does not rule out gluten intolerance.

Thanks for this ;) No, i was given the loading Vit D dose then told to buy my own! I will give the mouth spray a go.. My vit D ( 19th Jan ) was 89.6 nmol/L Range 50-175 ... I will also look into coeliac test. I went to an Endo (who was very rude) and was tested for cushings, came back negative.. And he looked at my TSH reading and also said that was fine! I do have Sarcoidosis and all thes extra things that dont seem right make me very anxious, I have never been like that until 3 years ago, and now i feel ill most of the time, fatigued, and that has changed my whole life...

Most of us have done the rounds on rude endocrinologists. They just don't seem to get the gut connection....or are completely disinterested

I did suggest to my gastroenterologist that there should be a combined gastroenterologist/endocrinologist department for autoimmune patients!

Aiming to keep vitamin D around 100nmol is likely beneficial

You don't need any gut symptoms to have gluten intolerance. Best to test for coeliac first just to rule it out

Getting vitamins optimal is first step

Considering why vitamins are poor the second step

Therefore Thyroid antibodies need testing

Persistent low vitamins with supplements suggests coeliac disease or gluten intolerance

gluten.org/resources/health...

Trying gluten free diet for 3-6 months. If no noticeable improvement then reintroduce gluten and see if symptoms get worse
