I just wanted to share my experience of a home remedy for hair loss and hope readers fine this useful.
I've tried every hair loss shampoo under the sun, massage with oils, minoxidil. Hormone treatment, every thyroid hormone available , vitamins minerals, evening primrose. Literally tried everything over the last four years. I've found this remedy to help.
Dissolve two vitamin E capsules in a cap of sulphur free baby shampoo over night. Add 3 drops of lemon oil to clear your scalp and 3 drops of rosemary.
This had dramatically reduced scalp shedding.
Can't say I've seen an improvement with hair growth but it definitely helps to reduce hair loss.
Like a lot of people using the site. I have a few health issues which aren't helping my scalp.
If you've used anything which has improved hair growth or have any links which you think would be good to share, it would be great to hear about it. Obviously within site guidance of not recommending a product on the post.

Hi. Thanks for this tip. I have read that Rosemary oil is very effective for hairloss. I am currently taking Spironolactone for androgenic alopecia made worse by underactive thyroid.
Hi there, I have had a lot of hair loss over the last 6 years since diagnosis. I have just had results back from hair biopsy and they diagnosed alopecia though could not tell me the reasons why as inconclusive. My consultant has mentioned Spironolactone - How are you on it and has there been a good result.
Hi. Well itβs early days. It has certainly made a difference and I am losing less hair. Started on 25 mg ( that did nothing ) to get my body used to it. My Endo put me on it - said he has had good results with other patients.
After a few months increased to 50 mg. some improvement followed. Then last October increased to 100mg. The recommendation for hairloss is 100 - 200 mg per day. I think I will stick at 100 because I have low blood pressure normally and this drug can reduce bp.
It is definitely working but many need to wait for a year to see improvement in growth and hair thickness. I cannot tolerate minoxidil but if you can combine the two it is very effective.
So I am going to persevere and with Rosemary oil am hopeful. I am 67 so fighting post menopausal natural hair thinning in an androgenic pattern. So I would recommend you try it and be patient and hopefully it will work for you π
I've found CBD Oil (Cannabis) incredibly helpful and very quick response to hair growth within a week!!
The challenge is where you source it from to ensure it's the purest and most potent quality.
I've been on it now for almost a year (and use it for all my animals' health issues too: arthritis, fear/anxiety, wound healing, great for almost instant pain relief) and it's absolutely brilliant: it's not called the miracle plant for nothing.
I get mine from the USA from a reputable source that;s organic and high quality. You cannot expect any benefit from anything you buy over the counter on the High Street; it's not pure enough and the potency is inferior too.
What we are not told as the public, is that every cell in our body has a cannabinoid receptor, (animals as well); we make a certain amount naturally in our own bodies but when our health is poor, we need to supplement with external plant sources, like the Cannabis plant.
It is totally natural, with no side effects and thousands of research papers that the mainstream are not interested in you knowing about, as it will undermine profits if you source a natural solution yourselves, vs they make it into a pharmaceutical version (medical cannabis).
It's not cheap, but because it supports your whole immune system, t's well worth t!
That's encouraging news ! I would love to try this 'miracle plant' both for hair loss and many other ailments which seem to be plaguing me at the moment.i did look into buying on line but how can you tell a reputable seller ?
Hi MissyGrace. Could you pm me with details of the CBD oil you take and details of where you get it with price, as I would like to take this too. My partner Andrew takes it for aches and pains but Iβm not sure the source is the best one. Thanks π
Hi. There should be a series of symbols on the bottom of your Healthunlocked screen. You need the healthunlocked app for this. Itβs free to download.

Hi, I've just seen a advertisement for cbd oil from Lloyd's pharmacy. Not a bad price. Wouldn't this make you light headed like normal cannabis. I know few who suffer from mental health problems due to smoking it. If your skins absorbing it wouldn't it have the sane effect.
Was your hair thinning or patchy and had it regrown ftom using it.
It's not a daft question at all. There are many ways to take CBD. The most popular is drops under the tongue (or for pets on food) ideally with food/fat content which helps absorption.
There are, however, many creams, lotions etc that contain CBD, including shampoos/conditioners (from the source I use, anyway), as it depends on the need of the individual. ie; some people like myself take the drops daily, others like to rub cream into a specific pain area, others like to vape CBD, as that's very popular way to ingest it in the USA.
In the UK, however, most may take the oil drops (different strengths available) and now recently, from the source I use, they are offering a shampoo/conditioner + hair treatment. I haven't tried that, but the reviews are excellent. I like to take the drops because it benefits the whole body, vs just my hair, so it's a matter of preference.
Do you just take it orally? I have been taking capsules for dreadful insomnia. Worked a treat for two weeks but extreme family stress has destroyed my sleep again. Then I discovered I had hair loss - only realised this yesterday and am so shocked. Been on Levo for under a year and my husband said my hair was thinning before that. So, will it regrow? I am 69. CBD dose is 6.4mg of which I take one but could take 3. Each brand seems to have different methods of measuring the strength.
Honestly, Trill, I'd love to offer some helpful input, however all I can say is that I'm taking a 500mg dosage (8 drops am and pm) and if I take it consistently (finances have interfered as I'm trying to stretch my dose with three animals as well lol!) it does make a difference.
I've also just transitioned to NDT a few days ago, so waiting to see if that too, has any impact on how my body (and hair growth) responds.
Interesting comment by Annnsandell about Levo blocking hair follicles. I di dn't know that.
All I can say is, we need to keep experimenting and ensuring that whatever we do take is optimal ie; organic, best distillation, high quality. CBD isn't always about the highest dose, but about consistency, building up it's presence in the body and obviously from a good quality source.
I sincerely empathise with you as I'm 58 and over the last 2 years I've lost over 50% of my hair and I have 'holes' in various places..... the joys of aging I'm told - NOT!!
Good luck to you! I'll report back if the NDT seems to have any impact ie; removing the Levo from the equation.
500 mgs is so high. Surely something amiss about comparing doses? My whole packet is 384 for 60 caps. Thanks for your reply and any future one on NDT (I don't know what this is).
You're right it's how you describe the dosage, so like comparing apples and oranges, however 500 mg for a bottle is not excessive. It's about one month's supply and from what I see is quite normal as high quality CBD sold in drop/liquid form. You can also get 750, 1000+ mg. I'm not sure where you source yours from, but sourcing good quality is key!! NDT is natural dessicated thyroid which contains T3 and made from animal (pig) thyroid. Not available to me via the NHS - or my endo - so I source it myself and have just started taking it. Hope that helps clarify, if not, happy to provide more info if I can.
The CBD is from a company (don't think we're allowed to state brands?) 'produced to pharmaceutical standards' blah blah. I think they're legit. Horrible to think of taking pig thyroid! Will have to research how and why I might need T3. Thanks again.
Just to say that I have what would appear to be male pattern baldness. Not hair falling out.
I saw some research years ago that said that the Levothyroxine can block hair follicles and something to do with Testosterone and that Evening primrose oil can stop it happening, nope.
Tried Regaine for women, nope.
Caffeine shampoo, nope.
Special shampoos with other preparations, nope.
Managed to get my testosterone checked and it is too high for a women so off to see an Endocrinologist in May (at last) all other vits. etc. like iron ok.
Note that hair grows in cycles and some initial hair growth is often just that, with no long-term benefit.
Happier with my short hair died bright red, embracing the problem for now.
It would be wise to get your potassium level checked anyhow . Spironolactone is a potassium sparing drug and therefore I try to avoid bananas ,avocados and sweet potatoes now - boo hoo !
I've taking Levo and it wouldn't surprise me if it was blocking hair growth. Also tried evening primrose which seemed to make my thyroid go overactive and speeded by scalp hair fall up. Wouldn't recommend it.
It was dying my hair a reddish brown yesterday that enabled me to see the scalp by contrast. Maybe it would it would be better to dye the hair skin colour.
