I was taken off T3 in October by Endo, (due to palpitations) who suggested I stay on same 125mcg dose of Eltroxin.
I have just tested again and these are my results. Weight gain of a stone since October!
I am inclined to increase by 50mcg to 175mcg which was what I was taking before I went on to T3 in March. Do you think this is too big an increase? Should I increase by 25mcg first?
I am taking B12 and D3, and wonder if I need to increase them as they are still in the low range of 'normal'.
Thank you

50 in one go is too big an increase. It really needs to be only 25 mcg every six weeks to avoid shocking your system. But, you certainly do need an increase. I shall refrain from commenting on your endo, but I'm thinking very hard! x
Thank you Greygoose. I had always thought that 50 was too big a jump, but when Endo took me off T3 he told me to increase from 75 to 125 in one go, said it was fine!!!!
I was on 175mcg Thyroxine when Endo prescribed 2 x 10mcg T3, and he reduced me to 125mcg. When I realised I was getting palpitations I reduced Thyroxine to 100mcg and then to 75mcg. It was at that point that I went back to Dr and then Endo as I still had the palpitations.
I will increase to 150mcg, and get retested in 8 weeks time.
You need vitamins retested. Folate and ferritin especially
And full Thyroid testing obviously
My endo only reduced Levo by 25mcgs when 2 x 5mcg was added. After 8 weeks and blood test, dose of T3 increased by 10mcg and no further reduction in Levothyroxine. More on my profile
Rather than take you off T3, I think the most sensible thing to do is to keep the T3 and reduce the T4 by 25 ug steps. Taking you off T3 entirely is DRASTIC and should bever have been suggested - too much of a shock for your body now to be required to get T3 entirely from T4, however much. No-one should remove T3 therapy just like that, but only in very gentle stages, trying to keep T3 and T4 in harmony.
