Worn out and getting fatter

I was diagnosed underactive thyroid 2016, I'm on 115mcg levo. I was told antibodies raised when I was first diagnosed. I was doing ok, losing weight but since last autumn energy has dropped and am gaining weight. Doc did load of blood tests, results are, range in brackets:

HbA1c 35 (<48)

Ferritin 99 (15.00-300)

Folate 13.6 (>3.00)

B12 382 (150-900)

TSH 0.56 (0.35-5.5)

T4 12.7 (7.00-17)

Doc said levels are fine, we put it down to work stress, soon after I was signed off sick.

I feel much better stress wise but fatigue has worsened, I want to go back to bed at 8am, I'm nearly falling asleep at my desk, ginseng is only thing helping me get through the day. Weight is continuing to increase, have put 8lbs in but good diet and activity levels are the same.

I'm going to get private tests done to see if anything has changed but does anyone have any ideas what is going on? I can't go on like this feeling so tired.

Sounds like you could have poor conversion. But only by testing the FT4 and FT3 at the same time will you know about that. Plus your FT4 is only mid-range. Most hypos need it higher than that. Your doctors comments are superfluous because without testing the FT3, he has no real idea what's going on.

And, your B12 is a bit low, too.

Thank you, I was wondering about conversion, will be buying my private tests to find out.

Ferritin 99 (15.00-900)

I've never seen a reference range like that before. The top of the range is HUGE. Is it a typo?

Yes it's a typo, range is 15-300

If you click on the word "More v" beneath your post you can then click on Edit, fix the typo, and then click Post.
