Taking adrenal support whilst on NDT

I had some good advice from SeasideSusie regarding my cortisol test, but, can anyone advise if I can take adrenal support from Nutri advanced while I’m on NDT?.

I had two cortisol DHEA tests and they are both showing high cortisol.

I was taking ashwagandha but, it appears I need something better.

I looked at Dr Peatfields book and it says stop taking thyroid medication and start on this for a while, then start again on thyroid medication.

If I do stop my TSH is going to rise again and I’m going to go backwards, I did stop my thyroid medication once when I was in the middle of being diagnosed with chairi malformation and though my symptoms were related to my thyroid medication, and after stopping for only a week my TSH was 6.3 from being suppressed.

I’ve googled it and there are some posts that come up but, I can’t gain access to them it says something like I need to log in and I’m can no longer find the search box on here.

Has anyone taken adrenal support and continued on thyroid medication

Best Wishes

I did take Adreset whilst continuing with my Levo and T3, I didn't have a break from them or alter dose at all.

Thanks SeasideSusie

Nowadays I’m normally on my mobile, so that explains why I couldn’t find the search box at the top on my mobile.

You’re answered another one of my questions.

Thanks for the advice on taking adrenals.

I've found that taking adrenal glandulars raises your cortisol, but that might be because mine is low. Try taking up meditation (Vedic TM or Twenty Minutes Meditation are the easiest to do) and breathing exercises (yogic breathing or something like Breathe Easy), plus vit C and B5 for adrenal support.

In addition some Celtic Sea Salt is very helpful for adrenals .

Himalayan pink salt works too, although I prefer the grey stuff

Yes it's a preference . You might also want for adrenal support Tulsi Holy Basil . It works very nicely . It comes in tea forms or capsules .

I didn't find it made much difference to me, although It's quite a nice tea.

It's very individual like everything else . I know people who swear by it . One needs to try it and see how it works for them . I heard it helps with sleep and with anxieties /stress . It's worth a try .

Definitely. I still keep in the cupboard, but it's getting harder to find without buying online.

I'm in US and Heath food stores do carry it . Amazon carries it too .

You can buy online in the UK easily enough. It used to be easy to get in the major supermarkets but now they rarely seem to have it in stock.

Why is that ? Health Food stores should be caring it since these adaptogens are so helpful .

No idea, probably doesn't sell as well as other herbal teas, so not a good use of shelf space.

Your probably right . It's universal . Supply and Demand . Except with our thyroid meds . Supply and Demand doesn't count .

Thanks jgelliss

I take ashwagandha, is this one of the better ones to take?, or should I try holy basil.

You can take both . Or you can try one at a time and see which one works best for you .
