Can anyonebpossibly advise please? I have struggled on Levo for years. I started taking NDT after research back in around 2017, starting with Naturethroid then WP which was superb but then it disappeared. I then took NP which was excellent but my healthboard at the time agreed to give me Armour which was likw the golden ticket. I felt superb andcwas on it until last year where my healthboard would no longer prescribe it. Owing to cost relucantly went back on Levo and again felt awful. WP appeared again recently and as I felt good on it before I stupidly paid several hundred pounds for several months supply. This medication is now awful. I had only been on it a week and felt totally unmedicated and my weight ballooned. Reluctantly I decided to spend more and bought some Armour but I am feeling very under medicated on the once brilliant Armour. Is it me or has Armour changed too. Is therevany NDT that now works please? Advice desperately needed.

Help with NDT
I have a combination of Levo (NHS script) and ERFA NDT (private script). Works for me so maybe try ERFA. Lots of faffing with different combos and doses to start with but presently Im well (!!).
I think there have been several reformulations of different brands of NDT and you're not alone in your disappointment.
I read on here a few weeks ago that there is a new NDT coming out of the Far East in 1/2 grain tablet/grain form but is too new to have any feedback, so in time you may have another option, and at a more realistic price if having to finance this yourself.
Fingers, and toes crossed !!!!
Suggest you get full thyroid and vitamin testing to see if your vitamin levels are optimal
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
If/when also on NDT make sure to take last third or half of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

I too was good on WP and then NP but the last lot I got was hopeless. Blood test showed it looked like I was not taking anything and I began to feel worse and worse. I went over to Thyroid-S from Thailand and was again good, not brilliant, but workable. I cannot get this any more but have several weeks of it left and beginning to panic!
This business is bad enough without having to chase different drugs. All the GP will do is put me back on Thyroxine, even though he knows and could see this made me ill.
I have seen people talking about Metavite on here, so it may be worth your while having a look at that. Good luck!
Thank you for responding. I tried Thiroid from Thailand which alleviated the hypo symptoms but the fillers gave me incredibly bad insomnia so I had to stop. Levo makes me ill so that is why I went down the NDT route. I have also tried synthetic t3 but it was too strong to tolerate. Do you please know where I can obtain info on Metavite?
So sorry...I understand the frustration! Look up Stop the Thyroid Madness Group website from the U.S.
Unfortunately many of us have been experiencing the same with NDTs. Labs go south and hypo symptoms return. NatureThroid, WP Thyroid, and NP Thyroid not the same anymore. Armour only working for some, and many of these people are also adding T3 to their treatment.
As a result, most of us are now taking levothyroxine with added T3 (Cytomel or generic) added to it. Will have to play around with exact doses of each to see what makes your labs optimal and what makes you feel better, but you probably know that as you've taken NDT before.
Truthfully, I really wanted to stay on NDT, but I was fed up with the shortages,, reformulations, and recalls and starting over time and time again. That's why I went over to the synthetic versions. Truly hope you find the right combo and feel better soon! 💕
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I have tried synthetic T3 but my body seems to find them too strong as even a tiny amount gives me severe insomnia.
Have you tried splitting your T3 dose? Changing the times you are taking it? Are you taking enough T3 evidenced by Free T3 blood labs at the upper quarter of the range? Are your adrenals/cortisol balanced?
The website I mentioned really does help you walk through this. They have books you can read, too, to help navigate through all of it. 💕
Hi,
I am currently buying Nature-Throid from USA/California. The prices for Nature-Throid are ok, I guess very good comparing to Armour. As far as I know Armour, WP, Nature_throid supposed to be teh same but have different pharmacy producing them. Nature-Throid is the cheapest, this is why I am buying it.
I guess when on hormone replacement therapy you might be never at 100% but it helps.
A few months back around March it was taking them apparently 2 months to deliver. I have ordered around 2 weeks ago and I supposed to be getting delivery soon.
What about Nature-Throid?
Armour apparently had a lot of changes and many people complained that it is not good any more.
