Yes. There should be at least 4 hours between both calcium and Levo and Vit D and Levo.

Some people find that Vit D can affect their sleep, so that's something to watch out for and if it does then rethink the timing of your Vit D.

You need to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 regularly

Extremely common for some or all of these to be too low

How much vitamin D are you taking?

Is that prescription from GP?

How low was vitamin D when first started supplementing?

Calcium naturally increases as vitamin D rises.

Has calcium been retested ?

Hi thanks for your reply yes the thyroid prescription was from my GP he said my blood tests look good. I was reading this forum and got the idea to take calcium and vitaminD in one pill 1200 mg calcium and 1000 mg D, 4 or more hours after taking eltroxin. I don’t know how low D was, I’m going in today to see doc and will ask about the vitamins. Thanks for the advice. Will check into that.

We should not take calcium unless tested and low and absolutely necessary

Most diets are rich in calcium

Too much calcium causes arteries to fur up

All recommendations on here are for vitamin D on its own

Never accept only an opinion from GP on blood test results. It's often a wrong one

You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and ranges.

UK GP practices are supposed to offer online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need "enhanced access" to see blood results.

In reality many GP surgeries do not have blood test results online yet

Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up. They can no longer charge for printing out, rules changed after May 25th 2018

Far too often people are left on too small a dose of Levothyroxine and remain very unwell

TSH should be around one and FT4 within top third of range to be adequately treated on just Levothyroxine
