I have just had some results back and still waiting for T3 T4 and TSH.
In the meantime, I was wondering what you thought of these levels. Can high B12 cause problems like pins and needles in lower arms, hands lower legs and feet, also overheating

Are you supplementing B12 which has caused high levels or is it naturally high without supplements?
If it's caused by supplements, I have read
"Vitamin B12 does not accumulate to toxic levels. Consuming large quantities does not cause side effects or high levels in your system, whether you get it through food or from taking high-dose supplements."
In this case I would just stop for a while.
My surgery tested my B12 recently, never done it before, and my result was 1206pmol (140-725) and the Nurse Practioner freaked a bit until I told him that I supplement 2 days a week. So I told him I would stop and he's happy with that. I will retest myself at some point and when it gets lower then 1000 I will supplement again.
If it's high without supplements I would discuss with your GP.
I'd save some money and stop it for a couple of months rather than reducing dose, for those of us in the older age group a level of 1000pg/ml is recommended by Sally Pacholok in the book "Could it be B12"
"For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1000 pg/ml."
You could then restart at a lower dose.
I've just looked at my results again and realised I was looking at an old result. I've checked the most recent ones and converted the units of measurement and it was originally 1228ng/L and after nearly 2 months of not taking any it has reduced to 1150ng/L. [ng/L is the same as pg/ml.] I shall start taking my B12 supplement again in the new year, 2 days a week at 1000mcg each time, and there's 400mcg in my B Complex which I take daily.
Hi Marz, oh my word, why don't the doctors tell you this. Yes I do Supplement. Doctor will only test Vit D once a year. I do take D3 though. I will lower my B12 dosage.
The Guidelines are sitting on their desk no doubt ! - they just don't read them. The B12 that was tested was the amount circulating - only 20% of the result can reach the cells where it is needed. How much B12 are you taking ? You mentioned supplementing in an earlier thread ! B12 is water soluble so any excess will be excreted.
Postal VitD testing from City Assays in Birmingham - website of the same name. 😊
