Ok guys here goes today is the the day were I'm going to test my theory of throxine giving me such bad heart palps that I can't get to sleep at night, 20 years I've put up with this and docs just look at me like I've got 3 heads when I mention it (you've had a heart trace Julie there's nothing wrong with you) well that's it no more T4 for me, I am on T3 too so I will just up that a touch and see how I go, just hope it is the throxine and not something wrong with my heart, anyone know how long before I'd notice a difference because it's still pounding away now ?

Testing my theory.
There's nothing on your profile
It might be the Levo, or it could be low vitamins or gluten intolerance
Do you have Hashimoto's?
What are your vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels like? Add results and ranges if you have them
What supplements do you take?
Low magnesium is common hypo problem
Do you supplement magnesium?
Are you on strictly gluten free diet?
Hi SlowDragon
My THS suppressed at 0.05. 0.30 -6.00
T4. 11.7. 10.00- 22.00
T3 7.0. 3.6-6.4
I had to stop taking iron, i take B12 selenium, magnesium and vit D so they are all good but no to gluten free and I have my endo app on Wednesday and been hypo for 21 years. Thankyou
Do you supplement vitamin B complex too? We can be low in other B vitamins
How's folate level?
Personally I found magnesium was important, but strictly gluten free was the most effective at stopping pounding/heavy heart beat.
I couldn't manage with FT4 that low either. More on my profile
Just realised I havnt had a full blood count for for 18 months will get that done next week, I do take b complex as well but only magnesium spray as my stomach won't tolerate the tablets I know my FT4 is low but really didn't won't anymore throxine, will see what the endo suggest next week
Hi Littledaisy, your fT3 is above the range - have you considered if that is causing palpitations? Also I have an idea I sometimes get palpitations when my levels go a bit too low for me? Like in the middle of the night.
Co-incidentally I too was plagued with awful palps when on levothyroxine and cardiologist was puzzled and was going to put something in my heart to actually record what was going on as I had quite a few halters done and didn't provide info and he was puzzled. Around that time I switched to T3 and have had no palps since, didn't need an implant so I guess that some of us are sensitive to synthetic T4 or that it isn't an Active Hormone but inactive and maybe not be converted to sufficient T3.
Ahh interesting Thank you Shaws, I hope you don't mind but I've seen shot your comment to show my endo on Wednesday that it not just in my head
Good luck and tell him the members of the forum are not medically qualified but by 'being there and done that' we know which suits our bodies best.
There appears to be thousands that are fine on levothyroxine but they certainly wont be on this forum. There has to be exceptions to a rule. I believe some people cannot take paracetamol at all or some other medications but we are dealing with a hormone essential to our bodies wellbeing.
