Well after posting on here 4 years ago about my awfull symptoms I have finally been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism..I already knew this myself with my symptoms and reading on here about it..but getting diagnosed has been hell..my main doc put it down to the menupause another put it down to adrenaline fatique,,then thiyroiditis..and all along its been hyperthyroidism 😡😡😡😡 what the hell are the gps doing!!! My doc refused anymore bloods due to the fact I was going threw the menupause..that was rubbish I urge anyone on here to push your GP to do regular bloods tests and if they refuse get another GP to do them..I will thank the lady GP who took one look at me and requested urgent bloods they came back the next day as overactive thiyroid and she knew that..she as only been at my surgery a few months and it was my first time seeing her.. I was shocked she took bloods their and then because you normally have to get an appointment with the nurse and this can take up to 2 to 3 weeks so this is maby why my bloods came by normal..I think some docs just think your an hypercondriact espesally if your menupasle because some symptoms can be the same but this should never be the case docs should investigate and never put it down to the menupause alone.i have suffered for 4 years gone deaf in my left ear,and was vometing blood,,but no explanation for this..I was attacking my body but consultants dismissed this😡😡 and I'm still deaf in my left ear bloody sick of our doctors and consultants..😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Has your GP now prescribed any medication, and referred you to an endo Rimmer?

If you post your test results, we may be able to give you an idea of what to expect.

At this stage, your GP may only have ordered TSH and FT4. However, if your results have come back over-range, you should also have FT3 tested, plus TPO and either TRAb or TSI antibodies, although you may need to wait until you see teh specialist for these.
