What’s the best B vitamin for my 4 year old?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for the best all-round supplement for my child. Does anyone have experience of any of the following?

Or should I just go for something like

I should add that my child is very energetic, prone to mood swings and very temperamental, so I’d value your input. Thank you!

June this is a thyroid forum which mainly deals mainly with adult thyroid problems.None of us is medically qualified.

We cannot comment on the efficacy or otherwise of vitamin supplementation for a 4 year old.

They know all about B12.

But, I'm curious to know why you think your four year-old needs B12. Is the family vegetarian or vegan?

Thank you. Well mainly because my mum suggested it and he has historically been a picky eater, but recently he has improved so I am less concerned. We’re full on carnivores!

I agree with the others, not a good idea to just give such a young child vitamins without knowing if he needs them. Especially not just because he's a picky eater. At that age, most kids are. They grow out of it. :)

I imagine that just about describes the majority of 4 year olds 😊

Personally I would not be suggesting any supplement for any child. We know nothing of their medical history or anything else about them.

If you think there is something lacking that suggests your child needs supplements, I would suggest first of all talking to your GP or, if they still have them, your child's Health Visitor (yes, I'm that old, we had them when my children were that age).

Good to know they still exist. They used to come to your house regularly for 2 or 3 years I think, I remember my HV suggesting my son had speech therapy when he was about 2. I imagine it's all done at the GP surgery now.

Hi then you are asking to give him Vitamin B which will or could make him worse. A child's kidneys will not take doses of vitamins - unless he is tested as deficient - please do not do this - it could also cause liver damage. Use food as your medicine.
