Graves, little support from GP and only T4 tests.

My general practitioner does not seem to understand Graves disease other than she says her brother has it. He had Radioactive removal of his thyroid. I asked her how her brother was doing and she said he is almost cured. I took this to mean she did not understand Graves disease because I didn't know you could be cured. Also whenever I complain about sore muscles or bloat she says that I might have had the flu or anything other than thyroid issues. She also refused to do T3 test. I started taking selenium on my own and I'm feeling much better. I also am getting referred to an endocrinologist because I have had some eye problems and the muscle problems on going. It's very discouraging when the doctors just want to blame every symptom you have on some other disease they just don't seem to understand and then you feel like a hypochondriac like you are making it up. I'm been doing this 2 years since I had a thyroidectomy and I am getting tired of it. I want somebody to be on my side for a change do not treat me like I'm making it all up. I am a very active person and intend to remain that way.. I'm not giving in to this Graves disease.

Do you have recent test results with ranges ? B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD - have they been tested and can you post results ?

The only tests that I have currently is a new test forT4 T3. so I have no levels for any of the other tests you mentioned. I asked to be referred to an endocrinologist and hopefully they will uh order the appropriate tests.

Thanks.

Try to get the tests above done and post here in a new post with results and ranges. They need to be optimal for you to feel well with a thyroid issue 😊 Hope all goes well for you ...
