How can I get my half eyebrows to grow back?

eyebrows
They do come back if you are on the correct medication for you but it takes ages! Mine were sparse but the ones I had grew longer as it to may up for what was missing! That wasn't a good look either. But mine are t perfect but I can see improvement.
Just in case there is a breakthrough I am following this post as even when on correct dose ( not in range ) mine have never returned. I would love to have them microbladed but I’m afraid it might make my TED react.
Hi sam295. Once your FT3 and FT4 reach and maintain optimal levels by taking the correct medication, your eyebrows should start to grow back. If you are not in the optimal zones of the range, they will still be missing. If you're following the recommended TSH, FT3 and FT4 testing done every 6 weeks, along with medication dosage increase every 6 weeks until you have little to no symptoms and your levels are optimal, this should take no more than 3-6 months to get there. Of course you have to have a good doctor who knows how to read and interpret your labs first, and who knows which medications to prescribe. It's possible you need T3 in addition to T4.
Sadly this hasn’t happened with mine. Maybe years of bad doctoring have taken their toll and even though I have been optimal for a while now with all results where they should be for me it’s a no go 😢
Hi DeeD123. I'm sorry to hear that. Your FT3 is at or near 3/4 range, and your FT4 is over 1/2 range but not too near or over 3/4 range? Have you had your thyroid antibodies, TPOab and TGab, tested for Hashimoto's? That can always throw a fun curve into things.
Yes I’m afraid it could be the hashies throwing that curve ball. Had my t3 tested at the hospital last week for first time and it’s just above midline ft4at 3/4 and the endo has written to my doctor telling him to keep it there so for first time in years it’s all in line 😄have bought some stuff to thicken what I have so will let you know how it goes. Thank you for your suggestion of the hashies.
Hi DeeD123. It could be. "Hashies". That made me laugh! Like hash browns (a type of breakfast potato dish). Hashish (some sort of cannabis product). Anyway, please don't mind my sense of humor.
Do you have any other symptoms besides brow loss? Maybe now that your levels are better you'll see your brows starting to grow back. How long ago did you lose them and how long ago were your previous labs and how low were you then?
That made me 😆 need to spell check more often I think. I lost them about 8 yrs ago. I was in a bit of a state at the time due to being treated by a quack. If I say levo dropped from 250 to 50 you will know what I mean. Long story but numerous docs since some good some terrible, found this site and started doing some research of my own though still slightly trusting worse luck. Ended up with a tsh of 3.20 range up to 4.20 last year felt absolutely awful and depression returned and I had had enough . I had bloods done at the hospital last week by a fabulous new endo who was brought in by my eye surgeon
it is said that castor oil will help them grow, and you can buy empty mascara tube with brush in on amazon
Optimal treatment of hypothyroidism and anemia...
Black cumins or black seeds are also helpful for hair growth...
Hi sam295 - I hope it is ok to post a brand name? I am on a decent regime of supplements, adrenal support, T3 and high nutrition diet... my eyebrows have not recovered; pencilling in takes longer every day. A friend recommended peptalash because it gave her enough lashes to wear mascara for the first time. I have applied it twice a day for two weeks and the inner and outer brow ends have started to come back, the whole area has filled in. I still have to use pencil and powder to intensify what’s there, but I am not painting onto bare skin anymore, if that makes sense.
I've had similar problems but more with my eyelashes. I tried various treatments with little effect until I tried Rapid Lash. You need to be patient but I now have eyelashes again. The same company also make Rapid Brow so worth a try. Good luck. It's bad enough feeling awful without looking it too.
