My eyebrows are rubbish. I've been leaving them grow for about 20 years and they're still the same! What do you do to make them look thicker and bigger?
I really love the new eyebrow style (NOT the black moustache above the eye look). The natural but thick and well kept look. Any advice?
Thanks!

You can get the brows tattooed on. Their is also a beauty treatment that makes the brow s look thicker and lasts about 2 months. Where I go for waxing and pedicure does that
Oh my goodness! Currie. My grandmother used to live there - on the Lanark Road West between the post office and the bungalow, by the bus stop. Small world.
Oh I know Balerno too. Hers was the big stone cottage, there used to be a big old Masonic Hall across the road but I see from Google Earth that it’s gone now and there’s a lovely view up to the hills.
When we were kids we used to take the dogs out down to the river and throw sticks for them, my gran’s parting words were always ‘Don’t let the dogs get wet’. The whole fun of it was getting the dogs wet.
For some reason although I have never over-plucked my eyebrows they are sparse at the inner corners - I’m hyper but I know people who are hypo lose the outer ends of their eyebrows.
Anyway, I use Benefit Precisely My Brow pencil to pencil in the missing hairs. It is a propelling pencil with a nice fine lead. I have now started using their Gimme Brow - that’s like a waterproof mini mascara that has little fibres to thicken things up. I used to use one of their brow products that consisted of a wax and a powder and I know that they have just introduced a new one similar to that which I tried but didn’t like because I found that the wax in the wax based ones melted and it ended up on the top corners of my glasses. The pencil I now use doesn’t move until I take it off at night with eye make up remover.
If you go to their counter in a big store or Boots you can see and try the colours and get someone to try them for you - saying that though I always prefer how I do it to how the assistant does.
Brace yourself though for the hardship sell when they try to sell you the entire stock.
If I try something other than the pencil I always say I want to wait to see how it lasts on me etc before I buy it - I liked the Gimme Brow and went back and bought it but I didn’t like the wax and powder that pretty much disappeared.
Gosh! You must have been so fed up to lose all that! I’ve always been sure that was why I lost my inner brows - maybe I was right.
I went through a period of my hair falling out and as it’s long and no one other than me has long hair I couldn’t pretend it belonged to anyone else when it turned up in the food. Fortunately once I got onto the correct amount of block and replace my hair stopped falling out.
It also went completely silver round got round the edges - I’ve read that being hyper can do that - very strange! Basically from one ear up round my forehead, down to the other ear and back round the back to the first ear - a strip of a couple of inches deep all silver - not grey.
So if I brush my hair back from my face it looks silver, if I brush it down it looks dark and if I coil it up into a French pleat I get lovely silver streaks through it. It’s very strange but it looks good.
I went for micro blading and it’s amazing. I wasn’t for going down the tattoo road (although it is a form of tattooing) either, but a friend got hers done and they looked fab. Honestly worth the money. I finally have brows that frame my face rather than bare stumps that I couldn’t really work with.
I’m using a castor oil based thing: Rapid brow. Think they are a bit thicker but not really measurable.
Also check out Pampered Wolf on you tube for products and how to best use them. I use NYX micro brow pencil as it’s the finest I found. Took a time to get the right colour but this one is on the high street. A more expensive alternative is Urban Decay brow blade, an exceptionally fine brush end or a fine pencil. I have both but most often use the NYX.
I also found a little pencil in the bald spots and a brow mascara worked for a time before a brow colour change.
No sure it's relevant (probably not!) but I have had thick bushy and long eyebrows for as long as I remember. This did not change during the 8 years that I took levo, following my TT and RAI treatment.
I do tend to drink a lot of milk (I mean A LOT) and eat a lots of pork and poultry, so perhaps that is the answer. The only problem is that my left eyebrow grows upwards, my right eyebrow downwards, so perhaps that look may not suit you?
I'm quite proud of this, as I am about my 3 (THREE) scars on my neck, 2 scars on my wrists for Carpal Tunnel and the extra-large scar across my stomach after kidney cancer operation. The barber always asks me if I want my eyebrows trimming, to which the answer is always "no".
Live long and prosper, but, above all, enjoy your life as you'll never get another one.
I lost my eyebrows completely when I was on just T4. They have grown back now I take NDT, but they grow at right angles to my face. I have tried sticking them down but they just ping out again. I have to pluck them when they get long, as comb over eyebrows do not work! I am very fair, so most eyebrow pencils are too dark. I have given up caring now.
