I've never seen anybody say that ferritin should be low. But it shouldn't be that high, either. Ferritin is often high if inflammation is present. Did you have your CRP tested?
Your vit d, on the other hand, is too low. Are you supplementing that?
An endo might test your FT3 and he might not. But, with a TSH of 9.68, we know it's going to be low, so no point in testing it at the moment. Similarly, with such a high TSH, you can have no idea how well you ware converting, because your FT4 is also very low. So, best to wait until your TSH comes down to 1 or under, before worrying about T3.
Ah Thankyou Grey Goose, I think what I meant was my iron should be lower. I am reading about all these people who have Hashis and their Iron always seems to be lower than range not higher than range.i am not doing anything for VitD
As the doctors didn't do that test, I did.
What do you suggest? I have an appointment tomorrow with a nice nurse practitioner
Well, as I said, if inflammation is present, that causes the ferritin level to rise. But, we're all different.
I'm afraid vit d isn't my subject. Perhaps it would be a good idea to post a new question, just asking about your vit D. Then those that know will answer. There don't seem to be many people around answering questions today - plenty asking, but not many answering. It must be the Bank Holiday and the lovely sun doing that.
Some of us with Hashimoto's have high ferritin. It is more usually low, but can be high, possibly because of Hashimoto's

Retesting via vitamindtest.org £29 postal kit in 2-3 months.
My ferritin dropped from over 600 to 458 but has risen since at every test latest 900. I suspect alcohol intake is a factor and I am reducing but I was unaware that Hashimotos could give a high result, probably not that high!
