I'd love someone who knows to look at my results and see if they agree I should reduce my Thyroxine..
Prior to the blood test I was taking 150mcg Thyroxine and 2 x 10mcg T3. I started the T3 in January. The endo who prescribed T3 wanted me tested now and then again in 3 months when I see him again.
My local surgery managed to send my bloods to the wrong lab so the results dont show how my T3 was. They only tested TSH and T4. (The office are trying to find out whether or not a result for T3 is coming from another lab - I don't hold out much hope.) We dont have a permanent doctor so I only ever see a locum and usually a different one each time. The locum I saw yesterday said he didn't know very much about this but said it looked as if I was over-medicated.
Results:
TSH <0.05m U/L Normal range 0.46-5.0
Free T4 16.2pmol/L Normal range 9.9-20.7
Thank you in advance!

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting.
If on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, and if on T3 don't take in 12 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
Thank you SlowDragon. Your comprehensive reply has made me realise again how useless the doctor was. I will get the FT3 tested if they failed to do this this time. I haven't had vit levels etc done since last summer. Will do that again (and the others you suggest) as soon as I can.
Hi, I am having a blood test tomorrow morning at 8.45 so wont take T3 or Thyroxine tonight as you recommend. Can I have cup of tea in the morning before the test or is it best not to drink anything before it? Thanks again.
