Ah, QED - I just said on your other thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... that your vits and minerals were probably low! All are low and/or deficient. It does tend to happen when we aren’t on enough thyroid replacement - it affects gut absorption. What’s your GP had to say about these results?
Hi well I have only been taking 800iu vitamin D tablets. The GP said my folate only just out of range, B12 normal and ferritin normal. Thanks
You need a FULL iron profile done due to your LOW Ferritin. ( Stored Iron in the liver ) Did you have a FBC or Full Blood count done ?
800 IU's of VitD will not help a flea and certainly will not get your VitD up to at the very least to 100. You also need the co-factors - magnesium and VitK2-MK7 to work with the VitD. I would suggest taking at least 5000 IU's VitD in a gel capsule from Amazon - Healthy origins is one brand. It is a fat soluble vitamin so take with your fattiest meal.
I would supplement Jarrow Methylcobalamin 5000 mcg B12 - a lozenge to keep under the tongue until dissolved. Also take a GOOD B complex - Thorne Research - again from Amazon - to keep all the B's in balance and to give you Folate/Folic Acid.
Please remember 'normal' is an opinion and not a result - your GP is happy when results are in range but that is NOT the case when Hypo - we need all the help we can get
