I have hashimotos and I’ve been on Synthroid for about two months now. I would appreciate any help in regards to my numbers.
TSH 2.53 (0.40-4.50)
TPO AB >900
T3 Uptake 33% (22-35%)
T4 8.9mcg (4.5-12.0)
TFI 2.9 (1.4-3.8)
Folate 12.1 (Normal >5.4)
B12 - 545pg (200-1100)
Tested negative for Celiac.
Vitamin D was low so my doctor advised to take 2000 daily.
A little background here. I am a 40 year old male that used to have an active lifestyle. I started having severe panic attacks at work followed by severe fatigue and muscle weakness. To the point where I have had to be out of work. My TSH before I started synthroid was between 4.58 and 6.00. The synthroid didn’t seem to help whatsoever and the only thing that has somewhat helped so far is anxiety medication that I was reluctant to try. I am at my wits end and refuse to believe someone that never really had anxiety before now gets jolts of anxiety just from everyday sounds.
Would natural thyroid help? Synthetic T3? Help!

Well, you TSH is still too high. And the rest of the tests are the wrong tests. You need FT4 and FT3 to have any idea how your doing. But, your antibodies look high, even without the range. So, you do have Hashi's. How much do you know about Hashi's?
So, before you can know if NDT or T3 would help, you need to get an increase in dose, to bring your TSH down to one or under, and get the right tests done.
I understand that you are reluctant to believe what is happening to you, but I can assure you that hypothyroidism - low T3 - can cause all sorts of problems, including severe anxiety. And, once you raise your FT3 level, you probably won't need the anxiety medication.
