Please can someone interpret these results? My mom had a blue horizon test which showed her as being low in range for T4 and T3 with tsh of 2 point something (I think) with low b12 and vitamin D. She had a further test from the GP - the image is of nhs results (please can you look at my last post to see the blue horizon ones? I can’t upload both) Both tests were taken in the morning and she has only undergone treatment for vitamin D deficiency.

Thanks! No they didn’t give her B12, I have low B12 myself and thought the same, it’s still quite low now from what I’ve read but not as bad? She hasn’t been retested for her vitamin D which seems a little lax and she isn’t gluten free (though I have tried to tell her) I think she’s trying to cut it out slowly. The thyroid stuff is the thing that really threw me I know tsh seems high but T4 isn’t too bad - it’s annoying but in Birmingham they don’t seem to test for T3 on the nhs (weird because 6 minutes up the road in Solihull, they do). Also T4 has changed quite significantly between the two tests as well 🤔
Yes, I told her the B12 was low and she has started taking it daily, I think it’s 1000 iu but could be wrong. She wasnt taking anything at the second test except for vitamin D and she definitely had symptoms of B12 deficiency, some things have improved though, she dropped a lot of weight (she carried it on her tummy) and her hair is thickening up a bit which is good because it’s naturally fine any way. Her nails are still crumbley and ridged though and have no half moons (she used to have beautiful nails) and her skin is cold on the thighs and dry and a bit like crinkled paper on her arms and she moisturises regularly so if she was healthy it wouldn’t be like that - it never used to be.
It takes months after stopping B12 for levels to fall to pre supplement levels
Might be good idea to add a vitamin B complex as well after getting FT3 tested and antibodies tested
Remember if taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
