Hello 5858, I added a few lines to make your post easier for folk to read & comment on.
Everything looks low in range to me, especially Vitamin D - you need to get out in the sun or supplement - it is essential for bone health and calcium absorption. When I was low Vit D I was in pain everywhere, especially shins. You can get supplements with added K2 - to control where the calcium goes, always get regular tests if supplementing. Also iron/ferritin levels need to be optimal for Levo/Synthroid to work.
Hi ........thanks she did an iron panel it looked good. This is a new Doctor she also said she didn't know much about iron. I asked for an iron test........here are the results...........iron bind.cap(TIBC).......346 range 250-450..................UIBC 218....range 118-369..............Iron 128....range.27-139.............Iron saturation 37 range 15-55.................... So should I try to get in the range of 50-60 for vitamin D. I am hoping the doctor will tell me............... what and how much to take. I have done some reading and some people say take like around 8000iu.....The doctor seems resistant to give me any information until my next visit which is like 2 months from now. I can't wait for that for the vitamin D............. having to much discomfort and if the D helps. Anyway thanks in advance. Have a nice Day! Susita
I'd be rather worried if my doctor didn't know about iron, anaemia is very common and pretty much first on the suspect list for pain & fatigue - but yes, maybe they prefer a more complicated medication.. $$$? You have a nice day too! J
I think the iron test looked ok. We have the four seasons starting now its possible to get the sun. I am very fair and really do avoid it. I would say like 4 -5months of more sun. The office called said take 2000iu. almost what I was taking so I am going to take 4000iu d3 not alot$$$...Thanks Susan
Your FT3 is not mid point yet .You need some T3 either synthetic or from NDT .Which ever you do better with . You might want to first get all your nutrients up to par before you start with any T3 . T3 can unmask some adrenal insufficiency . Nutrients like Selenium if your not on it helps with conversions T4 to T3 .Your vitamin "D" levels need to be increased with vitamin"K" and magnesium B-12/folate , Iron if you test low (ferritin).

Thanks so much. I wasn't happy with my last Endo..and he retired.......so now I went to this new one. And I am not sure about her...... she forgot to do the D test so I had to go back and really pester to get it done. Now I see its deficient and day 2 haven't heard from her. She seems insistent that in 2 months we can talk about things. I had asked about the t3 she will not talk about that until June. So today I wait. I am thinking of d3 6000iu until I see her and k. Thanks I will look at slow Dragons post.
My sympathy for you . If you don't feel that your Dr/Endo is doing right by you then fire them and look for a new Dr/Endo . Granted the good ones are hard to come by . But don't give up . I did the same I fired Dr /Endo's till I found my current Endo . You need a Dr/Endo who understands how to dose with the right thyroid meds T3/T4/NDT that works best for you . If a Dr will Only treat you by T4 and goes by TSH don't walk Run . A Dr that allows you to help him make decisions together and respects your symptoms is a Dr you want to Hire . Read a lot about thyroids . Knowledge is Power . Get copies of your labs and keep them in protective holders . Get to know your lab results . Journal your symptoms with each dose changes . And compare .

Thanks so much. They did just call and said to take 2000iu Vitamin D......but I sent her another message said thats what I was taking until I stopped a month ago before all the blood work. Also I asked what a good level I know the range it 30-100 so is it best to be at 60.......... Anyway thanks if she doesn't work out I move on. It is a bit hard to find many good doctors around here.
