Naturethroid changes
Jazzw has seen her bloods change, hopefully you can see her post here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Yes, I feel a bit different, more achy, more tired, eyes drier and cubital tunnel coming back in my elbows. Blood tests taken after 8 weeks on the new Nature-Throid showed lower levels than before at FT4 16 (12 - 22) and FT3 5.2 (3.1 - 6.8). I'm taking 2.75 grains and these levels are lower than when I was taking 2.5 grains of Thyroid-S. I get a private prescription and my endo has increased my dose to 3.5 grains a day as a result of this test. I've never much liked Nature-Throid and had switched last Autumn to WP but can't get that at the moment of course. I'm thinking of going back to Thyroid-S actually.
I would like to go on WP as well but as you say it cannot be found. I may also try thyroid s as I feel worse on this new formula. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had problems with the new naturethroid. There are a few on STTM has mentioned not doing well on the new naturethroid.
Yes there are a few people talking about it on STTM and also on RLC Lab's Facebook page which is called "Nature-Throid & WP Thyroid", if you're on Facebook. The new tablets look the same as the old ones to me, but I find them more difficult to split, in that they seem to split only part way then stick together at one end which never happened with the old tablets. They also taste slightly different which could be explained by less coating.
I had emailed RLC when the shortages first started and they assured me that there was not going to be a change in formula. Last time, in 2010, they had told everyone about a reformulation in advance, so I tend to believe them and am beginning to wonder if the new machines are the cause. If so it would also explain what happened to ERFA when they changed manufacturing facility and country and some of us could no longer get on with the new ERFA. At that time their medical director was adamant that nothing in the formula had changed and I don't think it was in his interest to say that if there actually had been a change. Whatever the cause it's very annoying isn't it!
I have been wondering the same thing for awhile! Yes, tired more pain put on weight. Checked the bottle today ingredients are just
T-3 T-4 and I believe the chemical version at that.
