Naturethroid Formulation

I am currently taking Naturethroid again after it became available again. Has anyone noticed a difference as I feel really under medicated on it whereas before I felt decent. I have even increased the dose? I'm male within the U.K

Not noticed any difference myself, been taking it for 2 years and have had several deliveries since the availability issues and still feel absolutely fine. They claim not to have changed the formulation. Could your issues be because you swapped to another brand (I'm assuming?) and back again?

I was on Naturethroid initially but then went on WP thyroid which suited me significantly better. I then took NP until Naturethroid became available again though wanted WP but stuck with it as I have taken it before. I really feel quite unmedicated on the current Naturethroid even though I have upped the dose unlike last time I was on it!

Hi Nat. Could you please tell me where you purchased yours as I was wondering if a different pharmacist might dispense a better batch?

What were you taking while it was not available? If you had a lapse in medication, or were only taking T4, then your levels dropped. What are your current FT3 and FT4 levels?

The reason some people do so well on natural is that it contains T3, or some of use do better on synthetic T3 and T4. Natural can be a problem for some if they have autoimmune reaction to naturals then your FT3 and FT4 levels would have dropped, due to the pigs diet or fillers in the medication.

To be honest I was put on Levo which gave me horrendous side affects but decided to search for something else. I started with Naturethroid which was ok but then discovered WP Thyroid which suited me really well. Since they became unavailable I switched between NP thyroid and back on Levo. I feel really under medicated on the current Naturethroid even though I have upped to three grains.

Levo is only T4. You probably need T3 too. I take levo and lio, so T3 and T4. NDT gave me autoimmune reactions.

I took Levo but the side effects particularly the incredibly bad insomnia caused me huge problems. I have taken liothyronine alongside but it certainly didn't improve the insomnia. I have last tried liothyronine on it's own and alongside NDT.

Interesting, the same thing has happened to me... switched temporarily to Armour 4gr and then back to Naturethroid 4gr. Just had bloods taken and both FT3 and FT4 had dropped by approx 20% and TSH has gone over 1 for the first time in ages. Have just increased to 5 gr in the last week, tho’ still not feeling great. I had been back on Naturethroid for about 8 weeks before I did bloods.

Interesting, because I feel the opposite. It seems like the uptake is too fast or something. I ended up hyper and have backed way down and slowly increasing again. I finally found a practitioner to help me with the increases. NatureThyroid going out of production has messed several of my friends up as well. Anxiety has been my worse symptom.

It all depends on what your FT3 and FT4 levels as to which hormones you need and what the dosage should be. The problem with NDT is that some people might need more T3 or more T4 than what in a grain. Because it’s all rolled into one pill, taking multiple grains might throw off T3 or T4 levels. Then factor in that some people have reactions to it or what the pig consumed, and also factor in the potential for Hashimoto’s autoimmune reactions.

Hello, I have been on the "new" formulation (although RLC states it hasn't changed) for 1 month. Prior to this, I was able to find the "old" 3 grain dose at various pharmacies around the city, so I was never without. Towards the end of using the "old" NT, I had my doctor bump me down to 2.75 grains since I felt mildly hyper at times. So I started the "new" formulation at 2.75 grains, only 0.25 less than on the "old". My T3 and T4 levels have dropped significantly - more than can be explained by a quarter grain decrease. They are at the levels from over 1 year ago, when I was increasing my dose to 1.75 grains after just starting with NT at 1.25 grains. My hypo symptoms seem to be creeping back. My wife also takes a different dose of NT and has definitely noticed her hypo symptoms return over the last month. I saw on another forum that someone had to increase by a half grain to get back to their normal state. Has anyone else noticed this after being on it for a while? If so, did you have to increase the dose?
