Fatigue and weight gain

Hi, I had a total hysterectomy 5 months ago and my last blood test which was 3 months ago was;

TSH 1.08

T4 8.5

T3 2.6

Since these results I upped nature thyroid (wp shortage) to 2 and a quarter grains (split in the morning and 12 noon). Supplement on 150mg magnesium citrate daily and probiotic. My energy slumps about 2pm and I need a nap to restore energy...my temperature is 35.9 in the pm and no higher than 36.1 in the morning. Fed up with fatigue and weight gain but anxious about upping ndt incase I over medicate. I was on 125mg.levothyroxine before I went on ndt. Any advice/tips would be grateful, thanks.

I'm afraid we need the ranges for those results. :)

Hi and thanks for replying. ..ranges are;

T4 9.00 - 22.00 pmol/L (mine is.8.5)

TSH 0.35 - 5.00 mu/L (mine is 1.08)

T3 2.60 - 5.70 pmol/L (mine is 2.6)

These were taken 3 months ago and was on about 2 grains at the time ...since then I'm up to 2 and a quarter grains but still feel so tired. Going to have another blood test next month but in the meantime think I will have to up to 2.5 grains.

😊

If you're going to get retested next month, you can't go up again now. It should be six weeks after starting a new dose, or you won't get an accurate result.

Those Frees are very low. Especially for someone on 2 grains. How do you take your hormone? On an empty stomach and waiting at least one hour before eating or drinking? Not taking any other medication or supplement at the same time? And waiting at least four hours before taking your magnesium?

Ok thanks for the heads up, Yes I take the first dose an hour before eating/drinking and on an empty stomach but I also take my 4 billion probiotic too, do you think I should take probiotic a bit later?.....but the second dose I probably wait just half hour before I eat etc. Magensium I take about 7pm at night. I'm not taking any other supplements.

I think it might be a good idea to try taking the probiotic a couple of hours after the hormone, and leaving an hour before eating after the second dose. Because, there, you really aren't absorbing it very well.
