What to ask at consultation and anyone seen this consultant?

Dear All,

I'm seeing a Dr Meeking on Wednesday this week. If anyone has seen him, could they PM me with their experience? Has anyone received good treatment from any endos in the South East? Thank you. From the approved list, there is also an Nhs endo in Winchester.

I also would like advice about what to expect or ask at my appointment. I'm now getting the collywobbles about it! As I'm sure so many on here can empathise, I've visited doctors so often and come out of the appointment without a diagnosis or prescription. Do my results below lean towards needing just T4 or should I need T3 added or NDT?

My symptoms are fatigue, lethargy, shortness of breath with feeling of suffocation, cold hands and feet, nausea, weight gain and neck pain.

My blood tests results from last month are-

TSH 3.86 [0.270-4.20]

TPO ab 365 [positive >100]

TG ab 97 [normal < 280]

TSH reverse antibodies <0.4 [0.0-0.4]

Reverse T3 14 [10-24]

Free T3 5.0 [3.1-6.8]

Free T4 16.03 [12-22]

Total T3 1.7 [1.3-3.1]

Total T4 81 [59-154]

So, are you NOT on any Levothyroxine at all?

Your results clearly show you have high thyroid antibodies, which is Hashimoto's

Have you tried strictly gluten free diet? And/or dairy free diet.

Strictly soya free too

You could push for trial of Levothyroxine.

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't been prescribed any thyroid medication. I have gone gluten, soya and dairy free in the last week.

My GP surgery are not very aware of thyroid symptoms so have had to go down the private route. Just hoping that I will receive a presciption of levothyroxine on Wednesday.
