T3 Tiromel causes bloating due to Lactose, can I tske lactase enzyme?

Hi everyone! My doctor told me to stop taking T4 (I was on 50 mcg), and prescribed me Tiromel. I am taking 25 mcg in the morning and 25 mcg in the evening. My FT3 and FT4 was not rising though my TSH was supressed. He tought I might have a conversion issue.

Anyway, it causes headaches so far (today is my 3rd day) and I believe they’ll stop it in few days. But I haven’t experienced any good effect yet - as far as I know, you start feeling good effects from the day 1. I have patience, I am still waiting for them.

The biggest problem is the very uncomfortable bloating Tiromel (T3) causes due to the lactose it has in it. Tiromel is the only T3 brand in my country. I feel like T3 is my last hope, I don’t want to give up on it. Can I take lactase enzyme together with Tiromel (literally same minute) to se if it helps me? I know thyroid medications have interactions with many other medications, even vitamins, so I wanted to ask you guys first.

I don't know, just guessing, since our bodies (not yours!) produce lactase when they encounter lactose I think it will be OK.

If both your FT4 and your FT3 were low, you didn't have a conversion issue, you just weren't on a high enough dose of levo. 50 mcg is just a starter dose.

Hi Cofy, I’m taking Levothryoxine and this was my question. Did you take the lactase with your medication and did it work?
