NDT plus Levo

Good Afternoon,it's been a few weeks since I posted anything but I wanted to let folks know that since I had my last bloods in back in Jan I have purchased NDT and have taken it alongside my levothyroxine. Before buying my T3 levels were under range and my GP told me it was unimportant and would dose me by TSH alone. I have managed to get an endocrinologist appointment in May this year.

I was previously on 200mcg of levo and I have been taking 125 mcg of levo plus one capsule of NDT raw thryoid. I have read that each capsule is 8mcg of T3 and 32mcg of T4 but the T3 is four times more potent then the T4. (If I'm wrong please correct me)

Anyway I feel tons better,energy levels have increased and I'm back horse riding. Lost a little weight but lucky I've never stacked lots on but more importantly my aches and pains have gone and my mood has lifted. My family have noticed the difference,I know I'm not going to get T3 treatment on the NHS so I'm trying to do the best I can. My GP is unaware of what I'm doing but I'll be interested in my next blood test to see if my levels have changed .

One last question should I be taking the NDT once daily as I have been doing???

I don't see how you can split a capsule to divide into 2 doses. If you don't feel overmedicated taking one capsule daily then I'd continue as you are.

No you can't split a capsule but I read that for the dose of 200mcg levo I should take 2 1-/2 capsules daily if I wasn't supplementing with levo and as you can't split them I assumed it would be two one day and then three the following day.
