1/2 lb gain better than expected

had a fairly good week until saturday when i went to eat my jacket potato, cut into it and found something really gross and big inside it (im fighting it at the moment and have photos)

anyhow i ate my egg and bacon pie and was still hungry and didnt have anything else in as my dinner was planned

daughter gave me a tonne of sweets and said 'you can have these' knowing normally i wouldnt eat them because of slimming world

i got so hungry i ate them, son then went to shops and got pizza and garlic bread and i ate that too

we shop daily so there wasnt much food wise in the house

but im still 3 stone 1 1/2 lb lighter

Thats ok mandy, but sounds disgusting, i would definitley pursue it further, my 12 year daughter found a used plaster in her asda curry, yak, thankgod she did not have any of it, she has a habit of checking her food before she eats anything anyway, i played merryhell with asda, they refunded me and had a gift voucher for £30. and a letter of apology.xx

Good for you! I try to follow SW but this time its not working at all :(

I gave up on sw as I was sticking to it and hardly using my syns and never lost anything. I've since joined weight watchers and I've lost 17.5 pounds. I find it hard watching other slim people getting on with life eating what they like, yet I have to restrict my intake to even maintain weight. Good luck

theres so many diets and for us with naff thyroids its finding one that works

well done on the weight loss thats an amazing result

i hate seeing others sitting down enjoying cake and chocolate and never gain a lb, i look at it and thats a few lb on

thats a shame :(

the latest talk is making sure you drink 2 liters of water a day

ive found really cutting down on carbs helps too

Tldg45 profile image
Tldg45 in reply to mandy72

I find that reducing carbs helps too. I'm going to Zumba twice a week and a dance class once a week. I'm exhausted after each class but I force myself to move more and finding exercise lifts my mood. I'm very self conscious in class but doing nothing isn't going to help me lose weight 😊

mandy72 profile image
mandy72 in reply to Tldg45

well done on the classes

if im completely honest i do nothing, i will prep and cook my evening meal and thats about it

i have a fitbit to keep track of my heart rate (how sad is that?) but im over the moon when i reach 2000 steps a day, slimming world nights i sometimes hit 3000 or close to it

ive seen on the fitbit community people getting 20,000 or more steps a day

i have no friends on mine because im ashamed of how little i do

its not down to laziness because i would love to go out for a walk or visit my daughter or go for a wander around town but i cant i just have no energy and get out of breath too easily

I totally get where you're coming from. I have to force myself to go to classes and as I take a friend I have to go as I give her a lift. I was only saying the other day that, is it my thyroid that I have no energy or am I just lazy. I feel drained most of the time and everything I do is a forced effort. People without thyroid problems don't understand how tired you feel. 😊

we are not lazy, we are sick and we are being kept sick by our drs and endos who know nothing about thyroids

i do go out daily and thats shopping as we shop daily as weekly we found we was throwing too much away but i need a shopping trolley or else id never make it round the shop, i also beg hubby to park as close as he can so i dont have far to walk

the tirdness is like a drugged up feeling.........i hate it :(

firstly ..think about it -- by preping and cooking the meal that in itself is far better than processed crap [ you know whats in it ] , secondly dont ever be ashamed of how ''little '' you think you do --- what one person can do will never be what another can do , just keep within your limits - otherwise you can do more damage than you can handle - be proud of whatsoever you achieve personally ........you have persevered for so long now , and it has been working in its own time and will continue if you give it the effort girl .... you will get there eventually YOU KNOW IT !!!!!!

mandy72 in reply to alangardner

you are always spot on Alan, ive never looked at prepping a meal to be a big thing but you are right i know whats in it

my consultant does a walking/running/crawling meet up weekly i may give it a go in the summer......i can start off crawling lol

ive been going 2 year 2 months now started well then put it all back on so rejoined and been doing ok so far

i have a goal now my daughter got me a t shirt from america that im dying to get into but its slightly tight so i have to work for it

alangardner profile image
alangardner in reply to mandy72

we all start by crawling -- but not always admit it -- keep your goals , small ones as you go along [ you have more chance of getting them ] and then gain another and another -- never forget that the eventual goal will and can be achieved if you stick with it without giving up as soon as something goes pear-shaped you can and will get there with the right attitude and perseverence girl
