Zara_227,

See another GP at the practice or change GP practice and make sure you write to the practice manager making a formal complaint of your GP's negligence in failing to treat severe mineral and vitamin deficiencies.

Ferritin is low in range. Has an iron panel or full blood count been done recently?

B12 and folate are deficient. GP should initiate B12 injections 48 hours prior to you being prescribed 5mg folic acid daily. Investigation should be done as to whether you have pernicious anaemia causing deficiencies. Symptoms are listed in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... healthunlocked.com/pasoc are the experts on PA, B12 and folate defi-ciencies if you need more advice.

800iu is insufficient to correct Vitamin D deficiency. Your GP should refer to local guidelines or the cks.nice.org.uk/vitamin-d-d... Do NOT accept a prescription for 800iu which is a mainte-nance dose prescribed after vitD is replete >75. My GP prescribed 40,000iu daily x 14 followed by 2,000iu daily x 8 weeks which raised vitD from <10 to 107. Vitamin D should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.

Zara_227,

Did you have treatment for iron deficiency?

Thanks I had iron deficiency treated 2013 - 2016 with iron tablets. When they didn't work I was referred to haematology for iron infusion. Iron deficiency came back 8 months after active monitoring, given only 8 weeks of iron to take once a day. No longer on any iron.

Zara_227,

You need to see a different GP. Results clearly show iron deficiency anaemia even though ferritin isn't deficient.
