Please be aware that for this test you have to supply two samples not one.
I found this out this morning after querying my results yesterday when levels for Folate, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D were missing due to insufficient sample. I have used this test on a number of occassions and have always provided one sample. Also I reread the instruction manual I received with the kit and it doesnt mention that 2 samples need to be provided.
Very annoyed at this as blood draw for me is very difficult and time consuming. Now faced with doing it again or going to the extra expense of going to hospital/phlebotomist.Does anyone know if the Medichecks kit requires 2 samples for an equivalent test?

I've had as Plus Eleven that I ordered in September, waiting for me to do in a couple of months time. They changed a few months ago from 1 x microtainer to 2 x microtainers for this test due to the number of tests carried out.
The instruction leaflet that comes with the kit is a generic one sent with every fingerprick test, it's not specific to the Plus Eleven.
However, there are 2 x microtainers contained in the kit and the Lab request form you have to complete mentions "Sample Containers: 2 x mic or 1 x vac" as does the information on the website when you click on the Plus Eleven link to order it.
Not sure how you didn't understand that 2 x microtainers were needed.
Because it wasnt explicitly stated. I received 2 biohazard bags with my kit - does that mean I should have used both?
As I already said I have ordered this kit before and it has always been one sample required. I have difficulty drawing blood and if I had known that two samples were required I wouldnt have bought it.
My kit has 1 envelope, although I always pay extra for the Special Delivery return envelope. But I would have thought seeing the 2 x microtainers would make you wonder why there were 2, it's clearly stated on the lab form 2 x microtainers. You could have made a quick phone to BH to query anything.
I find your replies very strange as I thought the ethos of this forum was to help people.
I posted here so that others in a similar situation would be aware of the potential issue in ordering the kit and to ask if others knew whether the equivalent Medichecks kit was one draw.
You on the other hand have just picked up on my mistake and have ignored my request for help.
I find it equally strange that you didn't understand or query with BH why there were 2 microtainers, or even ask on the forum before you sent off your sample.
It's clear enough when ordering this kit that 2 microtainers are required, on the website and on the lab form enclosed with the kit that had to be completed and returned. My replies above have pointed this out and anyone who was thinking of ordering this kit will now be aware that the information is clear, I think that's helpful to them, but of course too late to help you.
As for ignoring your request for help, to answer your question about whether Medichecks require 2 microtainers I would have needed to visit their website and look for that information, which you could also do. However, I have done that now and for the equivalent test - Thyroid Check Ultravit - it actually says:
Blood - venous suggested. This test can be carried out with a fingerprick sample, but we recommend venous collection to ensure we get enough blood for full analysis...."
You just dont get it do you? You've gone out of your way to question my actions? Why on earth would you do that on a forum which is supposed to help and support others?
