Advice for daughter's fatigue

I have Hashimoto's and am managing fairly well on T4 and T3. My daughter (22) has been complaining for some time that she is exhausted. Blood tests for anemia etc seem to be ok. She had her TSH and T4 tested - with the following results in October - any thoughts?

TSH 1.54 (0.35 - 5.00)

T4 12.6 (0.9 - 21.00)

Many thanks for your help.

Mantras131,

TSH is low-normal and FT4 is within range although on the low side. Results don't indicate hypothyroidism which NHS diagnoses when TSH is over range or FT4 below range.

What other blood tests has your daughter had done?

Thanks Cllutter. She has had White Blood Count, Red Cell haomoglobin, mean cell volume ( I am not sure what any of there are). She had her iron level tested a while ago but doesn't have these results. She is going back to her GP who she has just registered with to go through her blood tests.

Mantras131,

Sounds like a full blood count. If you post the results and ranges we can advise.

That T4 range looks odd. Should it be 9-22?

For full evaluation she also needs FT3 (at same time as TSH and FT4), plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies

Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Medichecks or Blue Horizon can test if GP is unhelpful

Thyroid tests should ideally be done fasting and early in morning. This gives highest TSH

Thanks SloDragon, just checked T4 range is 9-21 but they didn't do the FT3. I think an early Christmas present may be a more complete blood test. ...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results
