Is T3 at the lower end causing my fatigue..

Hi all.

Back from the endo yesterday and everything is in range however my T3 is at the lower end of the scale.

My vitamin D, B12 and iron are all fine however I'm still fatigued and tired from mid day on and require a plentiful amount of caffiene to get me through the day.

36yo male on 100mg levo.

Results were.

TSH 1.6 (0.27-4.20)

Free thyroxine 20.1 (12.0-22.0)

T3 1.6 (1.3-3.1)

Can anyone please advise, I'm contemplating upping to 125mg to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

if you are still having hypo symptoms then an increase might well help. Blood on the lowish side. Lots of people would be fine with those results but sounds like you might benefit from small increase.

Actually, taking more T4 might lower your FT3, because more would be converted to rT3. Ideally, you should add in a little T3 to your levo.

If anyone would care to private message me as to where I can get some this would also be appreciated.

Why not edit your post and title to ask people that question? If you put it in the title, and ask people to PM you their links, you're more likely to get a response from people that know. :)

Some people don't convert FT4 to FT3 properly because of a genetic abnormality. Google D102 to find out more about it. If you have that genetic problem you will definitely need to take some T3, and yes, low FT3 will make you feel very tired, particularly after any physical exertion.

How long did you leave it between taking your levo and having your blood test?

Thanks for a the help so far.

To answer some questions..

Vit D and B12 were well above range due to supplimentation which I have now stopped, calcium was in range and iron was at the upper end of this.

Blood test was taken first thing within 30 mins of waking and prior to me taking any medication.

I have managed to source some pharma T3 today so will add half a tab to my daily dose tomorrow and report back in a few days with my progress.
