Hi can anyone help, my son has not been feeling to great, very low, so tired! I asked for blood tests as I have underactive thryiod and dad has B12 deficiency ! His B12 has come back at 157 (120-900) although the receptionist says no further action I think this is very very low! Does anyone agree! Should I be asking for loading jabs?? Watching a very sporty 15 year old suffer is horrible and with his exams coming up I think this needs to be higher.

Your son's B12 level is horribly low and he needs immediate treatment. I have PA and know from my own negative experience how vital it is to treat B12 deficiency promptly and properly. Lots of people here on the TUK forum have a B12 deficiency and will sympathise with your son's situation.
I suggest you go over to the PA Society forum here on HU and download the information in their Pinned Posts. They will give you ammunition to use with your GP.
Hi,
I knew that but just needed someone else to agree with me, my husband has it to, the decline in my son over the last year is sad! So I'm no armed and ready to take on the dr. Thank you so much
A lot of people with B12 deficiency and/or PA end up having to self-inject. Obviously, given your son's age you would want to get your local GPs on board with rapid diagnosis and treatment. If they don't cooperate, you should start a new post here or on the PA forum asking for support to treat him yourself. I self-inject, and I'd be happy to talk you through it. You can send me a PM if you prefer.
