What do you mean by a 'mussel supplement'? If you mean a Green Lipped Mussel supplement then you'd need to check the iodine content and also whether there is any added calcium.

Lipstick56,

Google "Levothyroxine + the name of the supplement" to see whether there are any interactions.

If you are in pain you may be under medicated or have vitamin deficiencies

If you post recent blood tests including ranges members can advise

Do you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease, diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Low vitamins that affect thyroid are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. If they are too low they stop Thyroid hormones working. Have these been tested, if not ask that they are.

Always get actual results and ranges on all blood tests

I have taken Green lipped mussel supplement for about 20 years and I swear by it. I started taking it when my knees became painful when walking up stairs. Earlier this year I stopped taking them, I had run out and did wonder whether they were still any good, but after a few weeks I found that the aches returned and I am now back on them. I would suggest taking 2 of the high dose, 500mg, supplemments per day for a month then go down to taking 1 a day. I also take Levo but don't take them within 4 hours of each other. Good luck, hope it helps you. x

Do you mean 'mussel'? Or do you mean 'muscle'? If your muscles hurt, I agree with SlowDragon, it could very well be low nutrients. Especially zinc.

But is 100 mcg levo actually enough for you? Do you have the results of your last test?
