Confused symptoms of low B12 or borderline underactive thyroid.

New member, awaiting thyroid blood results from Medichecks. Will post them when they arrive for advice as not getting anywhere with GP on multiple symptoms. Considering trying to find different GP but seems they're all from the one mould. I have pernicious anaemia on 3 monthly jabs, but need more often but have been refused. Diagnosed with ME and fibro 15+ years ago. Family history of underactive thyroid-father, brother and daughter.

I also have P.A. and supplement with B12 methylcobalamin sublingual tablets, I get them from Amazon and they have a reasonable selection. It is quite difficult to get them from the pharmacist. We need sublingual because our whole symstem has slowed down with hypo, therefore we usually have low stomach acid which may need digestive enzymes or a good Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in water or juice.

If hypo every single thing is affected.

Dr Skinner was pursued due to complaints by the professionals because he diagnosed/treated as he was taught as a student but the GMC always stated he did no wrong and helped patients. Unfortunately about 7 appearances had a serious affect in that he died of a stroke. One of the last trained in the 50/60's. Nowadays I don't think they recognise one symptom.

Thanks for the info re sublingual tabs. I recognise when I need my injection but GP policy is I can only get it 3 monthly unless gastro consultant will change this. Difficulty is I've been waiting 12months to get my review with her. Will keep you posted

I get my injections for pernicious anaemia every 8 weeks due to my autoimmune hypothyroidism (hashimotos) and neurological symptoms. I think it in the NICE or BSH guidelines. The pernicious anaemia society should be able to help with finding a copy. They have a forum on this site I also supplement high dose sublinguals daily. Optimal levels of vitamins and minerals make quite a difference to you wellbeing

Tks for the info. I'm so frustrated with being fobbed off as a waster but finding it difficult to enjoy life at the moment because of pain and exhaustion.

you are certainly a long way from being the only one who finds 3 monthly injections are too infrequent
