Exciting News about Dr. Skinner's Research and a plea to all us sufferers to try to achieve a goal of publishing it.

At the TUK Conference on Saturday, 30th Sept, I met with Dr Afshan Ahmed,Dr Skinner's right-hand woman and Judy Sheraton-Rice (Chairman of the Vaccine Research Trust).

I was thrilled to know that Dr Skinner's Team have still been carrying on his work and are still at the premises and collated all Dr S's Clinical Studies. This was Dr. Skinner's aim - excerpt:

VACCINE RESEARCH TRUST RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION IN MEDICINE. WE ARE HELPING FUND ANALYSIS OF DATA WHICH WILL HELP TOWARDS BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HYPOTHYROIDISM

So since his untimely death, his staff now want to publish but need monetary help to do so,

Their statement is that "They are guardians of a unique and extremely important body of work and now have the opportunity to publish these in collaboration with a leading Professor and doctor of Endocrinology.

"These studies have been described by Endocrinologists as 'of worldwide importance to medical science' because we have unique evidence that many patients:-

1. Have severely underactive Thyroids despite having 'normal' bloods'.

2. Need MORE than synthetic T4 (levothyroxine) ALONE to regain their health.

3. need synthetic T3 (liothyronine) or a T4/T3 combination or NDT (natural dessicated thyroid) to regain full health.

4. Have been treated by Dr. Skinner's protocol safely and effectively and been returned to optimal health, to meaningful/fulfilling family and working lives.

We can change the world with this evidence by publishing these clinical findings

but.......As always we need money to make this dream a reality.

Please help by donating to

I know money is tight but I thought if the 60,000+ members on the forum could afford a very small sum it might mean that these could be published far more quickly and hope that everything gets turned on its head i.e. that we don't have to be searching for solutions. Are diagnosed and prescribed - not necessarily with blood tests - with whatever makes us well and there is a no nonsense as to how we are diagnosed/treated.

The last comment is by the Chairman - Judy Cheraton-Rice - (Hashimoto's victim restored to joyous life by the Genius Scot)

This is certainly great news, I don't have much money but I will certainly give as much as I can to help ...good luck!

They were extremely excited and if and when it is published I think we'd all like to see all of those faces of the doctors who have denied us a proper diagnosis and who still insist that TSH alone is for diagnosis.

One day I hope to see this too, before I started on my journey of self medicating on t3 only I told my doctor that one day you will remember all that I've said to you about looking at me not just my bloods ..you will remember me and see you were all wrong and that you denied me my good health and my life and forced me onto this journey alone !

I've added another post re the above.

My sentiments exactly!!! I saw Dr Skinner in 2010, but my Dr wouldn’t agree to the dose and reduced it, I’ve been mainly on 25 mcg or nothing since, with immense detriment to my health!!! It has to be the biggest medical scandal to date!!!

The link isn't working for me and I can't see the whole thing. Just up to vaccine-rese...

shawsAdministrator in reply toAngieAsh

You're correct it isn't working now. I shall have to figure it out.

Jewiemax15 profile image
Jewiemax15 in reply toshaws

why is it asking us to donate to vaccine research please? I don't want them to have my donation, don't agree with vaccines these days.

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply toJewiemax15

Doctor Skinner was also a scientist and even though you don't agree with vaccines it has eradicated many fatal diseases.

I remember many children who were crippled with poliomyelitis and I remember my father was reluctant initially for me to have one until it had been used for a couple of years.

The donation isn't to the trust itself but to enable Dr Skinner's research on hypothyroidism and thyroid disease to be published.

Please can we set up a separate fund then?

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply toJewiemax15

Dr Ashfan Ahmed who was Dr Skinner's colleague and assistant for many years has set up this and at the right-hand side there's a 'donation' link.

The link also gives comments others - one in particular for her daughter who remains undiagnosed.

Shaws - I am happy to chat by message or email but the information you have put about vaccinations is incorrect, so know it’s a touchy subject but you shouldn’t state things like that - the book by Dr Suzanne Humphries called dissolving illusions explains in detail how vaccines came about and how we are now up to dozens of vacxines.

I should have stated that doctor Skinner being a virologist so his Research team/company was The Vaccine Research Trust.

Hopefully it is now :) Thanks for letting me know.

as a confirmed ''techno- phobe '' , and also aware that these '''giving sites '' actually take a commision from all donations .... is there any other way that i can donate to this direct or any other way --- but not electronically -- ???,,,,i have the greatest respect for dr.s and all he achieved in his - our field - and needs to be resolved [ eventually ] - that will be a real legacy

Alan, I am sure you can post to the Vaccine Research Trust, as they were collecting in a basket at the Conference. The address is at the top of this link:-

That is amazing news. However, I apologise if i sound pessimistic, but Dr Skinner was vilified. Whenever I told endos I had gone privately, their first question was Is it Dr Skinner? In fact it was Dr Peatfield. They hated him. If a book is published will it truly be taken seriously?

"These studies have been described by Endocrinologists as 'of worldwide importance to medical science'. Do you know which Endocrinologists? I truly pray that indeed a book is published and it does change the world.

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply tomarigold22

Of course he was villified and that is because he treated patients' clinical symptoms as he was taught and refused to be cowed by the treatment he received at the hands of the Endocrinology. He was a thorn in their sides. Dr Peatfield also had the same treatment but he couldn't take the strain and also other doctors too. Some who gave in and followed the guidelines.

Dr S and Dr P treated patients as they were taught and Dr Peatfield resigned his licence so that he could still advise patients.

How many doctors called before the GMC had 10,000 testimonials from patients whose lives 'they saved' their words.

Dr S stated in his website before his death that we were all in a Parlous Situation these days because too much emphasise was placed on blood tests whilst ignoring all clinical symptoms of the patients who were diagnosed with 'other' problems.

His patients believe the strain of appearing before the GMC caused him to have a stroke. His staff are still bereft without him.

marigold22 - each time when Dr Skinner appeared before the GMC, it wasn't his patients who reported him but I assume other doctors. He was always dismissed as they said he was following a protocol and was doing nothing wrong.

So if everyone of those 60000 members gave just £2 each that's £120000! Let's start pledging now. Can thyroid uk set up a separate bank account for donations?

great idea!

It sounds as if a separate account for TUK people to donate would be a nice idea, we would also be able to judge how much we raised.

Excellent news, donation made. Let's hope when the research is published it has some major impact.

His staff are very excited and it will be a fitting tribute to their boss's memory as he put up with no nonsense amongst the 'Professionals' and one such person, when consulting with his patient said 'we've got him now". Unbeknown to him the patient also saw Dr S and told him, so he had to, yet again, be on alert and he himself said that the 'odds' of a doctor appearing so often before the GMC was about 4 million to 1.

He also prescribed levo first but when patients weren't improving he did prescribe alternatives.

Donation made.

Good to know that the works of this great man will live on. I never met him - I saw Dr P, but it's truly heartening to see comments from the many, many people he helped on the donation site. In essence, he'll be continuing to help.

Some years ago an endo said to me "don't go to see him, he's a virologist, what he's saying is dangerous" With that, I got up and walked out and never went back. I couldn't make the trip up to Birmingham but saw Dr P instead. He restored my life to me 10 years ago. I'm so grateful.

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply toAndie

Both doctors were persecuted for healing patients. Modern Day doctors have no expertise in symptoms, medication and unknowledgeable. I think Dr P now in his 80's I think still helping and advising.

Flecmac profile image
Flecmac in reply toAndie

I wish I had known about Dr Peatfield 10 years ago, maybe my GP would have listened to him, instead they went against Dr S! xx

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply toFlecmac

They did go for Dr P also but he couldn't stand the strain, so resigned his medical certificate but still could advise patients.

I'd like to make a donation, but it doesn't appear to be specifically for this cause? Am I missing something?

Afshan was also at the last conference in 2014. I helped with the data input fo me this, there are other volunteers there too. I also met Dr Skinner’s daughter as she was organising an event to raise funds. I think it does complicate things with the name because you have the people who knew what Dr Skinner was about and what Afshan is trying to achieve and then you have the general public who donate by going to an event etc who think they are donating to vaccine research?

Difficult one
