Dear All,

I just now saw the petitions and campaigns to try to save our T3; here is one link and I think there are others, too. Wonderful and thanks much to the organisers! For those of us who check in here once a week or less, could we keep bumping this up so everyone will see it? Thanks everyone, sorry I nearly missed it.

Hello,

I just signed the petition, “ITT Campaign group: Improve thyroid treatment for millions of people. Stop the withdrawal of T3.” I think this is important. Will you sign it too?

Here’s the link:

Thanks,

Anne

Thank you for posting and TUK are also running a Campaign and it is permanently on the pinned posts on the right-hand side of the forum:-

thyroiduk.org/

Many members have signed both, so if any member hasn't signed either, please do so.

Oh good, thank you! Let's all sign and try to get our family and friends to sign as well--very important. Admins rock. --Anne

The more the merrier and the fact that Endocrinologists seem to be unaware that T3 is the only active hormone and insist that everyone has to take levothyroxine when some never recover on it but the doctors are willing to prescribe any other medication for the symptoms.

I believe many have lost their jobs: thought of as malingerers: even sometimes by members of their families (which is very sad).

The cost to the the NHS is much more - 'extras' don't benefit the patient if they still have disabling clinical symptoms which need T3 to resolve them. Some are not able to work any longer and every single day is a day of misery and they wonder when they will feel well again. Antidepressants or any other prescription are given for the clinical symptoms except enabling alternatives like the addition of T3, T3 only or NDT to be trialled.

It is very harsh indeed and some patients don't even get a little bit of sympathy not that they want sympathy but relief of their symptoms.

Acoldiron,

If you haven't done so please complete the NHS England Consultation below which closes on 21st October 2017.

Yes I did, and thank you! It is important and specific, and lets us explain how bad it will be to withdraw T3 as an option for patients. Please everyone do take the survey; it did not take very long at all.
