I agree and I have no intention to minimize the difficulties male thyroid patients experience. It's probably even more difficult for them to get diagnosed! Yet, there is a disproportion of females suffering from thyroid disorders while the proportion of males and females among diabetic patients is more or less the same...so why it that diabetic patients get so much better care and endos prefer to specialise in diabeties than thyroid disorders? There is an elephant in the room and we need to talk about it.
I think it would also be beneficial if it as also reiterated that NDT was already removed and it was the original thyroid replacement NDT which contained all of the hormones and was in use from 1892 up until they stopped prescribing and many have to source their own now.
It was removed due to False Statements made by the BTA and RCoP and despite Dr Lowe's Rebuttal along with two yearly reminders for a response they ignored it altogether. Dr. Lowe was also a scientist and would have made sure his article was precise and he died through an accident.
marigold22 Kitten1978 I agree that would be great but not sure how we would go about it or where ? Wouldn't most places want to re-write it ? i am send it out to journalists currently thou, newspapers mainly

I thought this was extremely well written as it is a 'dry' subject and even giving the basics of thyroid workings can be confusing to the layman. I only have one criticism and that is the inaccuracy of:
"There are patients who have had their thyroid removed and so cannot convert T4 to T3 themselves".
It needs correcting as it reduces the credibility of the other totally accurate information, you start looking for what else is wrong and the message loses impact. Also anyone who didn't know it was wrong only has to read the comments section to be told and by someone who proceeded to add further inaccuracies.
